A two time cancer survivor at the age of 15, I had conquered one of the hardest times of my life. I knew there was a purpose for the pain. I went on to become a cancer advocate, and founder of a nonprofit helping children's with cancer. And then life went tumbling down. I found out at 20 weeks pregnant, that my baby only had half a heart. Becoming a mom to a very medically complex kiddo, managing the tube feeds, the medications, the appointments, the anxiety, the anger, and the FEAR of the future. I wasn't sure how to move forward, would life ever be normal again? I couldn't see any good from this. Until I stepped back and did... Embracing life's Lemons!

At age 12 my world seemed like it was crumbling down, really fast. My family and I had just lost everything in a house fire, my father had just recovered from a quadruple bypass, and I had just been diagnosed with cancer. As if it wasn't enough, my cancer came back again, and the numerous health problems have haunted me to this day, but that didn't stop me from wanting to give back to other children going through cancer. I decided to reach out and came up with an idea to start donating teddy bears. Shortly after, it grew, and grew and grew! Now KHKidz is helping with financial and emotional support for children fighting cancer and their families. My message is to stay positive, motivated, and find what YOU truly love to do. Learning how to "Laugh after Lemons"!
