As a soloist:
Classically-trained singing pianist. Proficient in a variety of genres including classical, standards, theater, top 40, easy listening, and jazz. Experience with weddings, music theater direction / pit orchestra, cocktail parties, studio recording, and soloist accompaniment.
As a duo:
Kala is also available with a blues / rock cover duo for restaurant entertainment and parties. A variety of arrangements available, including vocals, acoustic or electric guitar, and keyboard, or a full two-person band with drums, bass, guitar, keys, and vocals.

Kala's talent, flexibility, and professionalism gave me such peace of mind when arranging the ceremony music for our wedding on 6/22/14. Kala was quick to respond to emails, willing to learn new songs that I requested, understanding of me changing my mind every few seconds, and also worked closely with a cousin whom was singing at the ceremony, leaving me out as a middleman and instilling confidence that she knew what she was doing. At the actual ceremony, Kala provided beautiful piano music and did an amazing job. I highly recommend her for any event.

As we planned our wedding, we realised we did not love the musician at our church. I came to gigsalad to find someone to sing at our church wedding. After speaking with Kala, but only listening to a few of her songs on YouTube we decided to book with her.
She was so helpful in the process of picking songs. I changed my mind too many times but she was so accommodating.
When she started to sing at the ceremony my groom and I had to exchange a glance. She was amazing!! We were so impressed. After the ceremony people kept asking where we had found her!
We highly recommend Kala. She was wonderful.

About
Kala Farnham has trained as a classical pianist for 15 years, leading up to majoring in piano performance at Furman University in South Carolina, well-known in the south for its intensive music program.
Over the past several years she has built up professional experience as a wedding and cocktail pianist, performing piano entertainment at fine dining restaurants, accompanying vocal and instrumental soloists, and playing in the pit for music theater at schools and colleges. Her repertoire includes classical, jazz, popular, theatrical, and new age music.
Kala is also a folk-rock performer and is available to play keyboards for live band performances or studio work.
