I love to set the mood and make people feel comfortable. I am most in my element when the mood is a chill lounge vibe, but I can do almost anything and a lot of styles of music.

One of my favorite things to do is interact with the crowd and take requests. I know a lot of songs but there are also many songs I don’t know how to play. Occasionally, someone will request a song I’ve never played and I’ll do my best to learn it on the spot. It’s one of my favorite challenges because sometimes I surprise myself with how good it turns out. And other times I laugh at myself when I fail. Either way you can expect to have a good time.

Hailing from Metro Detroit, Julie Haven’s ‘Moody Piano Pop’ blends the style of Tori Amos' intricate piano work, the intensity of Alanis Morissette and the conviction of Fiona Apple, to make a unique sound of her own. Writing from her heart and her own experience, she allows her audience to personally connect with her music through her songs of love, heartbreak, personal growth and self-discovery.

Julie started singing to an audience as early as when she spoke her first word. It was then that she met her best friend, the piano. A few years later, self taught, she composed her first song when she was only 7 years old. By the age of 13 she was performing solo shows at local music venues, always impressing her audience with the emotional maturity she conveyed in her songs.

I don’t need much to set up except a flat surface, covered (if performing outside) and a power outlet.

I play keyboard, will bring my own PA (usually a bose tower) and can provide small lighting if needed.
