April 1, 2024Judson Hurd was perfect for our event, a bridal luncheon. He played a wonderful mix of Impressionist classics, contemporary/pop pieces, and old favorites. I am certain he could play anything! He was sensitive to our sound issues and incredibly easy going and easy to work with. If I EVER need a pianist, he will be our choice. I cannot recommend him highly enough. 20 out of 10!

January 1, 2023I sub contracted Judson to play a classical piano accompaniment for a wedding my band was playing the reception. The wedding couple were going to play a violin duet and needed a classical pianist. Two days before the wedding, the groom called after having a zoom rehearsal with Judson. At that time they asked me to release him from the job and did not want him to play at the wedding as they were not satisfied with his rehearsal. The only comment I could get from the groom was that he felt "Judson was not prepared."
I am in an awkward situation as I don't know all the details and if the complaints are justified, but do know that my client was unhappy.

Judson Hurd grew up in the beautiful country of Paraguay, at an early age he was deeply influenced and mesmerized by this simple way of living. At the age four he stumbled across his mother's childhood piano. His first 'teacher' was an old instrumental piano cassette a missionary couple left after leaving the country. The expressive, folk, piano vibrations of Philip Aaberg (Judson's childhood idol) and the simple, romantic Latin culture had a creative impact on his music.
After years of being self taught and improvising smooth, cool grooves over Bach inventions his family moved to Ciudad Del Este where he began his formal studies at the Franz Schubert Conservatory. At the age of 12 Judson Hurd rose to be one of the prominent youth pianists of Paraguay. He went on to study music theory and composition at Young Harris College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Music.
Judson now resides in Wilmington, North Carolina where he is still moving audiences through his music. His music has reached over 2,000,000 views on YouTube. He writes music for radio, TV, including companies Android, Jaguar, Land Rover, the Oprah Show, PBS, recorded countless session work, and has performed alongside Five For Fighting, Gavin Degraw, Fighting Instinct, Todd Agnew, pianist David Nevue, and many others.
Judson Hurd has his own equipment if the event is outside or there is no piano. He will bring a full size digital professional sounding piano that is perfect and not overbearing for small and large occasions.
