Overview
Hi, we are JoyBums Poetry! We are a dynamic duo of typewriter poets who service the Greater Austin area with on-the-spot poetry. Our mission is to spread joy with our love for poetry. Both poets have been writing poetry for over seven years and are well-equipped to offer guests a poem they will love and keep for many years to come.
How does this work?
A guest can ask us for a poem and we will provide two poems with two different perspectives on that one subject.

October 11, 2023A wonderful and meaningful souvenir
Recently we hosted our annual conference on ending homelessness and wanted to provide attendees with something special to take home. We reached out to Joybums and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. They were a responsive, friendly, and compassionate team. Many attendees told us that the poems produced made them cry with fondness, laugh with joy, or pause with gratitude. We hope to have them back for our next event!

I can't say enough good things about JoyBums Poetry! Camari and Rosa are absolutely delightful human beings and incredible writers. Each and every poem was heartfelt and meaningful. I have seen typewriter poets at other events, but Camari and Rosa have a truly unique concept where they each write a poem on the same topic/inspiration word, and then they each read theirs out loud to the guest. It makes the whole experience very intimate and interactive. We had 35 people at our party and the JoyBums produced beautiful poem after beautiful poem. Communication leading up to the event was excellent, they arrived on time and stayed to finish a few poems even though the booking time had passed. These are smart, gorgeous women with integrity and character and I am sooooooooo happy I found them for my daughter's graduation party!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

What to expect
Imagine this. You're perusing by and catch our table. You walk up and are instantly greeted by two beautiful, bad*ss poets. We ask you, "Would you like a poem?" You say, "Sure!" We respond, "What would you like us to write about?" You give us a topic. You receive two poems from two unique perspectives documenting this moment in your life. We read them to you so that you can hear our voice, inflection, and intention. We hand you the poems, and you smile because, for once, someone else has put to words what you have been thinking for so long.

We ask for you to provide a table and chairs in an area where we can hear your guests. If lighting will be an issue, we require access to an outlet to plug in a lamp.
