🎺 I am a versatile trumpet player with experience in classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary styles. I perform in symphony orchestras, musical theater, jazz ensembles, brass quintets, and chamber groups. I also arrange custom music for events such as holiday celebrations, VIP gatherings, and private occasions. In addition, I offer private brass lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Georgia and a Master of Music from the University of Maryland, where I was a member of the Terrapin Brass Quintet. Joseph Reid is a versatile trumpet player and educator based in the Washington, D.C. area. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree in Music from the University of Maryland, where he performed with the Terrapin Brass Quintet. Joseph has performed in a wide range of settings, including with the Athens Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Opera, British brass bands, jazz big bands, rock and Latin groups, and musical theater productions such as Little Shop of Horrors, Annie, Sister Act, and Escape to Margaritaville. As an educator, he offers private brass lessons and music theory tutoring to students of all ages and experience levels, emphasizing strong fundamentals, musical expression, and a love for music. He also provides custom arrangements, specializing in American and popular music for non-traditional ensembles. His primary teachers include Philip Smith, Chris Gekker, Brandon Craswell, and James Stokes.
