I was honored and blessed to have him use his talent during the Celebration of Life for my son. I was informed by many in attendance that it was the best service they had ever attended. Friends and neighbors who were at the service remarked that they had never heard anyone with such a beautiful voice. Some inquired as to his availability for other engagements. His personal attention to detail and genuine concern for me is something I will always cherish.

He was incredibly accommodating and worked with me on our song choices and it could not have been more touching and beautiful. Joseph Paul Rykert is a classically trained vocalist and guitarist based in California’s Central Valley. He currently serves full-time as a Worship Pastor, but music has been a part of his life from an early age. Joseph began studying classical guitar at the age of five and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University. His musical background includes musical theatre, opera, jazz, gospel, and contemporary music.
Joseph has had the opportunity to perform and tour internationally as a featured vocalist and guitarist. During college, he toured as a primary tenor soloist with several ensembles, including University Choir and Orchestra, Chamber Singers, Men’s Chorale, and The Saint’s, a men’s a cappella octet. He also formed and produced his family gospel trio, The Rykert Trio. In addition, he toured with The Unreachable Stars, a Broadway band led by Jeremy Stolle, former Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
Beyond performing, Joseph has experience working in live music and production for both musical theatre and opera. He enjoys bringing that experience into every event, whether he is performing a featured set, accompanying himself on guitar, providing background music, or helping create the right musical atmosphere for a celebration.
Joseph loves the variety that comes with performing for different audiences and events. His goal is always to provide professional, high-quality music while making the experience personal. He enjoys working with each client to create music that fits their event and makes it feel uniquely their own.
