Hi, I’m Joolie Bagoolie (aka Julie), a children’s entertainer and theatre artist with over a decade of experience entertaining at birthday parties, family events, schools, daycares, festivals, and more!
I get kids super engaged through active, imaginative play! I do this through interactive adventures which involve games, storytelling, magic, and puppets. I offer magic shows, toddler shows, balloon twisting, facepainting, and games! I do it as Joolie Bagoolie: a funny, silly, colorful, approachable clowny character. I do not wear clown makeup, and am never scary in appearance.

Have already recommended Joolie Bagoolie to others who have booked her. What a way she has with kids - kept 15 5 year olds engaged for a solid 30 minute show followed by a very patient 1.5 of balloon twisting and face painting. Wish I had found her ages ago - she is also very helpful with structuring party timing and activities. Don’t think twice if you want a different kind of party for your child.

Joolie Bagoolie did an outstanding job at our daughters 1st birthday party. Not only did she have the kids that ranged from 1 to 12 years old engaged but all the adults were also enjoying her show. She did face painting and some creative balloons like I’ve never seen before and did a magic show, it was like there were no kids at the party they were so quiet and entertained waiting for the next trick! Joolie was on time, professional and sincerely enjoys what she does which came through during her performance. What to expect
Joolie Bagoolie is a fun, silly, very approachable and not-scary clown character who loves having fun at parties!
You can choose any combination of the following types of entertainment for your event:
- Face painting: I use high quality, hypoallergenic face paints, and can paint any design a kid could want!
- Balloon twisting: My designs incorporate multiple balloons and range from a wide variety of silly hats, to balloon pets (dogs, butterflies, giraffes, monkeys, bunnies, turtles, dinosaurs, dragons, etc!), to swords and shields, fairy wings, magic wands, unicorn horns, and much more!
- Magic shows: My magic shows are 30 minutes long and incorporate silly, age appropriate magic tricks, jokes and physical comedy, audience participation, and a friendly, funny puppet. Perfect for ages 3-8.
- Interactive "adventure" magic shows: a 45 minute version of my magic show that involves magic tricks, puppets, games, active play/movement, and lots of imagination, as kids ages 4-8 join me on an interactive journey through a magical forest. This option is available for some customization depending on your child's interests or party theme.
Toddler shows: I offer a 30 minute show for toddlers ages 3 and under, that involves puppets, singalongs, dancing, and a parachute. It keeps the little ones moving and engaged with a variety of fun activities in a mommy and me style show.
Games: I get the kids moving and having fun with limbo, freeze dance, unicorn ring toss, and more. My games are usually non competitive, but are still exciting and engaging, so no tears over who loses or wins.
About
I have been entertaining children since 2011 across New England and in London, UK- from face painting and balloon twisting, to children's theatre with large masks and puppetry, to magic shows, balloon twisting on stilts, temporary tattoos, and interactive storytelling. I incorporate my physical theatre and improvisation experience into my characters and activities- and also draw upon my experience teaching in after school programs and drama camps.
I am a highly trained and experienced theatre artist with a master's degree in theatre. I've performed in the US and in Europe, and work as an actor, dancer, director, producer, teacher, and designer. I currently perform in theatre productions and solo performances in NYC.
Additional booking notes
At least one adult is required to be present and supervising children at all times during the entertainment.
Joolie Bagoolie and any associated entertainers are not responsible for supervision of children.
Joolie Bagoolie does not paint the faces of children under 3 years old.
If a child is overly disruptive during the entertainment, and/or if a child removes or damages any supplies belonging to the entertainer, then they must be removed from the audience/line by a responsible adult so that the entertainment may continue. Client is responsible for damages or loss of supplies if a child or other person present damages or removes the entertainer’s supplies.
Please make sure that the entertainment fits within your event's schedule and does not conflict with cake cutting, speeches or other performances, photo time, etc.
Any background music should be temporarily turned off during the show. Any background conversation should be kept to a minimum during the show so that the audience is able to hear the performance. For larger events, Joolie Bagoolie can bring a portable amp/microphone that does not need to be plugged in (however, rules about music and background conversation still apply!)
For shows: There should be adequate space for the kids to gather around in a semicircle, and for Joolie Bagoolie to perform with her magic bag, with enough space to call up a volunteer. The performance space is flexible and can fit in most environments, however it should not be in an area where there will be foot traffic, such as at a restaurant where waitstaff will be crossing the space.

Setup requirements
During the show there is no playing of loud music or sound, or disruptive background conversation. Space should have area to perform and area for kids to sit (floor or chairs).
The interactive show requires enough space for kids to move around to play dancing games, and for the use of a parachute 10 feet in diameter. The performance space should be clear and free of party foot traffic.
At least one responsible adult is to be present at all times and monitoring the children. Please monitor and attend to any child that is overly disruptive so Joolie Bagoolie can provide the best party experience for the rest of your guests.
Joolie Bagoolie reserves the right to stop the performance in the case of excessive disruption or noise.
