From the first message to the final song, I provide a polished, low-stress experience. I arrive prepared, communicate clearly, and deliver a full, dynamic sound through live looping, building each performance layer by layer in real time without the footprint or logistics of a large band.
Throughout the event, I read the room and tailor the music to the moment. I adjust the energy, tempo, song choices, and level of interaction based on how guests are responding, creating sophisticated background music when conversation is the focus and building momentum when the dance floor is ready. You can focus on your guests while I let the music evolve naturally around them.
Jon Rooks delivers the energy of a full band with the flexibility of a solo performer. A seasoned live-looping vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Jon creates polished, soulful entertainment for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and upscale celebrations. With a career that includes opening for Erykah Badu, Babyface, Ledisi, and Lalah Hathaway, he brings world-class musicianship, professionalism, and a repertoire built to move effortlessly from elegant cocktail hour to a packed dance floor.
For the best sound and a polished presentation, I require a minimum 8’ x 8’ flat, dry performance area with access to a nearby standard power outlet. The space accommodates my PA, keyboard, microphone stand, pedals, and instruments.
For outdoor events, the performance area must be fully covered and protected from rain and weather. I also request a nearby, secure area to store instrument cases, bags, and accessories out of guest view so the performance space remains clean and professional.
