Joie DeVivre, a Native of New Orleans, is a burlesque artist, choreographer, teacher, and lifelong dancer whose love affair with the stage began at the tender age of 5 when she tap-danced to “Mean Ole Lion” at her very first recital. Discovered in her living room by her great grandmother after mimicking Soul Train routines, Joie was quickly enrolled at Benjamin’s School of Dance and Gymnastics in the 7th Ward, where her journey as a dancer truly began.

With a degree in Performing Arts, decades of performance experience spanning from competitive dance, formal training, and sultry stage work, Joie has evolved into a force of nature—equal parts precision and passion.

As the founder of Belles Femmes Noir: A Burlesque Troupe centered around body positivity, she has been producing burlesque shows since 2018 fusing her rich dance history with the seductive storytelling of burlesque.
