I booked DJ Johnny Seriuss for my Studio 54 / Disco Theme party based on his description of uptempo/dance being in his specialty of sets and I'm so glad I did. From the second he started setting up at my party, we gave each other a big hug as if we've known each other for years, so the energy was right from the very beginning. I wanted disco/funk inspired music without it being too dated for the late 20s - early 40s crowd and he played just the right mix - He exceeded my expectations! He played a lot of modern hits over funk/disco beats and I lost my mind! His music definitely set right dance vibes from the beginning and played some of my favorite Hip-Hop/R&B/Latin and old school jams that had folks screaming at the top of their lungs. Thank you Johnny for helping me achieve my vision - I will definitely be using him for future parties !!!!

What to expect
Typical Gig Duration: 240 - 300 minutes (could be more depending on client needs)
I mix a wide genre of music the makes the dance floor packed for the whole event and I take requests all night. I also carry live internet so basically I carry an endless music library.
The event can have the following depending on event
Intelligent lighting effects, photo booths, plasma video screens, photo montages, event rentals, A good sound system etc.
About
My Name is Johnny Rivera but people know me as DJ JohnnySeriuss, the International Mixmaster.
I grew up in Queens, New York listening to the sounds of FunkFlex and DJ Tiesto. I was never interested in DJing until my best friend introduced me to a pair of CDJ’s, mixing underground house, then I quickly learned how to mix electric music. Soon the trouble came of course: I got curious if I can mix a Britney Spears song with this underground house song... To my biggest surprise it not only sounded great, but I enjoyed it, while my friend was giving me the "what the hell" look, I had the most fun breaking the rules!
I really liked the experience as I went on trying to imitate dj's, I found just one established DJ who had the same idea: DJ A.M. I had growing appreciation for the versatility of his music, his scratching skills, and his understanding of music.. He became my inspiration. I am no A.M. and I never had the chance to see him live, but in my early days and still today he inspires me to become better and sets the bar every time when I'm on set.
So why the "International DJ Mixmaster"?
The reason for this name is because my specialty is to blend together any type of song and make them sound like they belong together. When I say any song, I mean any song! It could be a brazilian samba mixed with house music, carribbean reggae with rihanna and some salsa beat there. I don't know how I do it but it works - anything from albanian to african, if it has great beats and can make a crowd go wild, then you will be sure you will hear it.
I work at several lounges, clubs, and many events for Celebrities and High power executives.
Where I learned to hone my skills is djing around the world can a DJ ask for more? I was trained by people of every age, from all around the world, how to please them the best, what turns them on. So when I go back to New york city I get people in their 60's dance all night to my music, newly engaged arab couple thanking me for the best party experience they ever had, Indian kids asking me "how did you know this is my favorite song?" or the Albanian army of chicks shaking to hits they didn't even have the chance to download yet. You are from the Bronx, or from Bangladesh they always ask, I just know what it takes to make you move, and I love it!
I believe that nowadays a skillful DJ needs to be very versatile and I am well known for that. My music collection is vast, that enables me to rock a latin crowd, a heavy metal crowd, an electro crowd, a crowd in their 50′s, or a crowd of ANY - you name it, I can do it all!
In addition to this, I also enjoy to mix all genres. I put great importance never to stick only to what's safe - which is a big problem with many contemporary DJs. Any DJ I believe can just conveniently live off of "Current Top 40", or the Hip Hop and Latin radio hits.
But it takes a special skill set to do it all. I am that DJ who has the balls to do it all: to go back in time or try funny or sometimes weird things - the way I do.
I listen to many DJs and I can tell there are too many bad DJ’s and so few good ones. I am not afraid to say that, as I am not afraid to drop a Backstreet Boys song in the middle of a bumping set, just to throw the crowd off either.
Where many DJ’s fall short is they play music for themselves and they get confused that the show is about them! Then they fail to remember to please the crowd, or simply they just never knew how to do it on the first place. They tend to forget that we are in the entertainment business and our most important ambition is you! The dancers! The crowd! It's about people who enjoy music, and not about them sucky DJs! ;)
Unlike other DJ’s I love requests and after just that one song I can tell that person’s requests for the rest of the night. Thanks to my passion and the years of experience I put in to DJing.
The best secret, aka my secret is very simple: a very good DJ is a Performer and Crowd pleaser....
