Johnny Chaplin
Overview
AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE! Johnny Valentine is Johnny Chaplin! As Charlie Chaplin’s Little Tramp, he has appeared on stage and has acted in, directed, and produced, several Chaplin tribute films including “A Day in the Park”, “The Barber” and “The Pawnshop.” A former San Francisco Improv student, Mr. Valentine has resurrected Chaplin's "Little Tramp" character as he first appeared in "Kid Auto Races" in 1914. Just watching him do Chaplin's trademark waddling walk, and you would surely swear you have met Chaplin himself! Entertaining old and young alike, Mr. Valentine is also available for collaborations in film, television and print, and instructs on how to walk like the "Little Tramp."

December 9, 2019Professional, authentic Charlie Chaplin
It was a pleasure to have The Chaplin Fellow (John Fericano) greet, mingle, and escort guests during our Holiday Feast charity event at Hearst Castle. He was easy to communicate with in advance, arrived promptly and prepared, and he looked amazing as Charlie Chaplin. The guests appreciated the addition, as Chaplin was a regular guest of WR Hearst. Great photo opps!
John has studied Chaplin's history and character thoroughly and does a wonderful job as an impersonator. My only critique would be that he's not as overtly animated as you might expect when in character; he does not draw attention to himself, which is not necessarily negative. That said, ours was a very formal event and I appreciated his respect for the guests. I'm sure he could act more over-the-top animated if directed. Overall, really great!

Tara,
It was certainly a pleasure to work with the Hearst Foundation, especially knowing that the money raised for this fundraiser was going toward a worthy cause, and also knowing Chaplin was a regular guest of Mr Hearst at his castle back in the day!
Considering the inclement weather, ie rain and fog, I enjoyed being there entertaining the guests. They were certainly surprised when I greeted them as they arrived at the castle! I would recommend to anyone to take a tour of this magnificent castle and discover all it has to offer. Thank you again for having me!

The Chaplin Fellow was a fantastic guest gesture model! His poses were dynamic and the students really enjoyed his costume changes. He is a true professional and we look forward to having him back in studio in the future!

John was very easy to work with and very prompt in communication and meeting times. He certainly looks the part and does a great job when acting like Charlie Chaplin. I only wish John had been a bit more proactive in engaging guests.

Brian,
I'm sorry you felt that I didn't interact as much as you wanted me to. I did keep roaming around, and had some requests for photo ops, and we also had an impromptu "Walk Like Charlie" contest which got everyone laughing. Maybe during the pre-planning stages of the event, you should've been more clear as to what you wanted me to do, or maybe I should've given you some suggestions as to what I could've done at the event. Overall, I did enjoy performing at your function, and I received a lot of compliments and smiles from your patrons. Once again, thank you for allowing me to perform at your function.

Every step along the way, John did everything I asked him to do and was punctual and extremely accommodating to my needs. He was also very creative in his approach. I highly recommend John as a Fellow Named Charlie any day!

June 25, 2017Stellar Event, Stellar Performer
Our Uptown Historical Society had a screening of a Charlie Chaplin film that was actually filmed a few blocks away from our event. John Fericano aka "A Fellow Named Charlie" was on hand to entertain our close to 50 guests. He took photos with everyone and really brought his character to life. Our guests really gravitated to him. He helped make our event a success. Highly recommended!

About
Johnny Valentine was born and raised into a large Italian-American family of entertainers, musicians, artists, writers and actors from San Francisco, California. Johnny was the youngest of twelve brothers and sisters and was immersed in their artistic talents at an early age. When Johnny was young, the family put on plays for the neighborhood and lip synced to albums such as "Jesus Christ, Superstar," Nicola Paone's "The Telephone Song," "Yakkity-Yak Blah Blah," and Lou Monte's Italian novelty songs.
As a child, Mr. Valentine was also exposed and influenced by comedy greats such as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy, The Marx Brothers, Abbott and Costello and The Three Stooges.
Johnny’s oft sense of strange humor always made his family and friends laugh, and they convinced him that he should make other people laugh, too. So, in 2012, he decided to imitate Charlie Chaplin and produced several short silent movies, "A Day in the Park," (2015) and "A Brick a Day Keeps the Boss at Bay" (2012), both tributes to Chaplin.
Johnny Valentine also acts, writes, produces and directs other short films in the style of the 1920’s silent movie genre, and currently has taken the stage name of “Johnny Chaplin.” He currently is the founder of Poor Souls Films. Mr. Valentine’s most current work, a short silent film titled “The Pawnshop” earned him several film festival awards, including Best Short Silent Film and Best Director.
Mr Valentine loves to make others laugh and is always happy when he sees the reactions from his audience, whether they be young or old. Valentine has stated, "If I can just make one person's day better by making them laugh, I've accomplished something monumental!" And true to form, he has been doing just that!
Johnny Valentine is the founder and current business owner of Poor Souls Films © which has been in operation since 2020.
