The John Reece Project is a collaborative effort of John Reece and the country's finest blues, jazz, funk, pop and soul musicians producing an intense variety of music. The band’s CD “Caribbean Solitude” has received acclaim and is distributed through iTunes and over a dozen international e-commerce sites. The current line up includes John Reece on saxophone, harmonica and vocals, Charlie Ewing on keyboards and vocals and other musicians depending upon the performance requirements which can include: drums, percussion, bass, guitar, trumpet, trombone, male and female vocalists….etc.

March 21, 2017John (the awesome saxophone) and Charlie (the amazing keyboard and vocals) were so great to work with and their music was a beautiful and very important part of our wedding. We are so happy and blessed that they were available on our special day.

February 17, 2013Had the honor of seeing them at an in-studio session and was blown away (pun intended). Such an incredible mix of talent. Three of the members did vocal solos which really gave a nice variety. Hoping to see them again soon.

John is an extrordenary performer and a master of the blues harmonica as well. John will be walking through the crowd professionally entertaining everyone. We bring the finest backing musician lineup and vocalists to your venue. Depending upon your needs, we can supply anywhere from a 2 piece (John on sax and a world class keyboardist) to a full band with male and female vocalists and a full horn section.
John Reece is an accomplished saxophonist, writer, producer, arranger and master of the blues harmonica. John writes and collaborates with local and touring artists and records in his own professional studio. His saxophone sound is highly influenced by his blues roots. John travels the Caribbean and performs with island musicians who greatly inspire his music. He has written and performed with Motown artists to include Martha Reeves, the Vandellas (Heat Wave, Dancing in the Streets), artists from the Miracles, Four Tops, Dramatics, touring blues artists to include Ronnie Earl, Larry McCray and many others plus the area’s finest musicians performing as the “John Reece Project.” Past awards and nominations include: “Outstanding Jazz Instrumentalist”, “Outstanding Jazz Composer” and "Outstanding Jazz Recording" 3 consecutive years by the Detroit Music Awards and featured in Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine in an article spotlighting great horn players. His political song “The Time Has Come” has been played on internet radio for the troops in Iraq. John performed live on NBC-TV for Superbowl Sunday with Motown Legends “The Original Vandellas.”

Real blues enthusiasts will not be disappointed! This is an unbelievable performance by blues master musicians using authentic retro equipment (microphones and amps from the 50/60's) and they dress the part!
