John Narum, World Yo-yo Champion and former top-100 contestant on America's Got Talent has been professionally performing across the nation after he won the World Yo-yo Championships at age 11. He does a wide variety of shows, ranging from halftime performances at sports events to corporate leadership summits. His overall message is to create an idea of talent self-awareness, and that growing up doesn't mean you have to give up your passions, even if that passion is as simple as a toy.

What to Expect
Typically this is the layout for a 10-15 minute show:
. Introduction - recognize event, introduce myself
. Simple yo-yo trick demonstration/familiarize crowd with the yo-yo
. Intermediate yo-yo trick demo - show how far yo-yoing has come
. Explain 1st style of yo-yoing, do a quick routine to music
. Talk more about the yo-yo, why it plays like it does
. Explain my yo-yo history, relate with audience on concept of hard work
. Introduce final style of yo-yoing, my specialty
. Last yo-yo routine to music
. End show, give thanks
If the show is to exceed 15 minutes, John demonstrates more about the styles of yo-yoing, as well as delivers more of an in-depth motivational piece, and talk more about his personal story.
"If I can impress someone with something I pull out of my pocket, I've done my job."
John Narum, just 22 years old, has been a veteran of yo-yo performance discipline for nearly 18 years. Inspired by seeing a special guest on the Bill Cosby show, he simply just wanted to learn tricks with the yo-yo. His mother found out about a local yo-yo club (who would've thought?) where kids were teaching each other tricks, and Narum jumped into the loop. The group disbanded about 5 years after John first joining, and John was at the point in which he started developing his own style and tricks, having in mind a dream: to be the best yo-yo player in the world someday.
That wish came true in 2005 when Narum was crowned the World Champion, and the youngest to achieve such a title at 11 years old.
After Narum won the world championship title, he was shocked and was in a stand-still on where next his yo-yo career would take him. He sought possibly more satisfaction through competition, but it backfired on him and he found himself questioning if this was the end of the road for him.
It wasn't. He started volunteering at the local Children's Hospital in honor of a friend he lost to Leukemia during elementary school, and performing all around the nation doing shows and promoting the themes of self-talent awareness and power through passion. That alone has driven him to keep pursuing new opportunities to share his journey throughout yo-yoing and the battles you will face even when you are at the top of your game.
John has taken these messages and exemplified them on national television shows such as America's Got Talent (2014), where he placed in the top-100. He also was a guest on the Martha Stewart Show (2006) and Tony Danza Show (2005).
John does a wide variety of shows, from Children's entertainment parties to leadership summits for corporate businesses.
