A Heartfelt Independent Country Voice Rooted in Honesty

From the first time I talked to John Major I knew I was going to be a huge fan. From Backwoods outlaw to S.O.S, I have to say is an absolute triumph. It’s everything I hoped for and more.

His lyrics in all of his songs are a definite strong suit, telling a coherent and emotionally resonant story with vivid word pictures that create a clear backdrop for the narrative. The artist's ability to craft a narrative that feels both personal and relatable is excellent.

John Major is an independent country singer/songwriter captures the kind of raw emotion that made people fall in love with country music in the first place. Every song feels like a late-night confession—honest, vulnerable, and deeply human. The lyrics tell real stories of love, loss, and small-town truths, delivered with a voice that carries both strength and heartache. There’s a timeless country soul in the songwriting, paired with an unpolished sincerity that makes each track feel personal. You don’t just hear these songs—you feel them. This is authentic country music, written from the heart and meant to be lived with.

Raw, emotional, and unmistakably country—this is an artist you don’t want to overlook.

Last Stop, Dixon IL

John was a huge hit when he played at my bar! I took a chance on hiring him and we packed the house and he delivered and put on a super fun, very energetic show. It was such a fun night! Highly recommend and can’t wait to have him back!

Supreme showmanship!

I simply don't give 5 star reviews. That being said, you won't find a thimble full of better songwriters out of Nashville. That's right! I said it, and I stand by it. John played at several open mic nights before he left Mis'sippi for Nashville. I have seen him play full shows as well. I normally don't go to shows to watch people from the Songwriter sjowcases. Not only does John Major write good songs, but he is a consulate performer on stage. His audience interaction is 2nd to none. Well, except maybe myself. I keed, I keed... If you are looking to go see what Mis'sippi music is like, GO SEE JOHN MAJOR. If you are looking to book a pro, BOOK JOHN MAJOR.!

What to expect

If an audience came to see me they get a high energy heartfelt country show Full of original songs stories and connection they'd see authenticity me sharing my journey from Mississippi to stages all across the country now if a client heard me they get a reliable season performer who brings professionalism adaptability and they show that leaves their audience talking it's about delivering memorable experiences every time

Additional booking notes

For most intimate venues up to around 300 people I bring a 1300 W amp that'll fill the room if we go bigger I'd need some sound reinforcement as for my lighting and staging they're flexible based on the vibe but not a dealbreaker just let me know you set up sounds

Set list

my set list is like a musical time machine just tell them I cover everything from the classics like George Jones to modern hits like Morgan Wallen and with over 3000 songs of my own you'll get a taste of originals woven right into the show

Influences and inspiration

My sound is shaped by (link hidden)avis and Justin Moore deeply influence Jason Aldean inspires my stage presence and from a songwriting perspective I draw from the soul of Jamie Johnson George Jones and Justin Moore they are the roots behind every note our play

Setup requirements

A crowd ready to party and have a good time and if the room is 300 or less inside a room I might need some sound reinforcement
