John played at my son’s rehearsal luncheon at the Naples Beach Club. He is a very talented singer and guitarist. He played for three hours and everyone enjoyed the entertainment. Thank you John
Response from John Friday:
Thank you, Suzanne! It was a pleasure and you were a fun group to play for. Best wishes to the kids on a happy future (and positive healing vibes to YOU to bounce back 100%!)
John was timely and courteous. He set the mood for the evening and we enjoyed every moment.
Excellent time. Everyone enjoyed him, creative, friendly, easy to work with you....fun time, well worth the time and cost. A really nice guy and very talented...good music.
Response from John Friday:
Thank you, it was a really fun group to play for! And thank you for lunch and the delightful gift (which is prominently on my display shelf!)
We used John for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour in Naples, FL at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. He was absolutely amazing as some of our guests explained. He was great with the crowd and really played into our beach theme. We couldn't have asked for a better act that night. Thanks John.
John Friday, the Tropical Balladeer, is a Trop Rock singer/songwriter originally from Maryland, now living in Florida. John takes his audience on a musical journey “down to the islands,” with a wide variety of rock, folk, country, reggae, Americana, and island styles.
John Friday covers popular songs from every decade of the pop and rock era. From the crooners of the 40s and rock ‘n’ roll of the 50s, from the British Invasion bands of the 60s to the singer-songwriters of the 70s, and from the “hair pop” of the 80s to the alt-rock legends of today, John plays the songs you know and love, as well as gems from the “ ‘B-side’ of the album” that will bring back memories of the era. John can tailor his show to any audience or venue.
More than just a cover artist, John Friday writes original music in several styles, “some funny, some serious, always entertaining.” His debut CD, Coastal Dreamin’, was released in January 2010 and features nine of John’s original songs. John’s performances garnered a place in the finals of the Landshark Lager Battle of the Bands in 2009, which included a live performance and video shoot in the prestigious 12th And Porter Theater in Nashville. John was the only solo artist, and the only Trop Rock artist, in the finals. His powerful songwriting skills have also earned an Honorable mention in the American Songwriter Lyrics Contest.
Whatever your music needs, whether a party, corporate event, wedding, fundraiser, restaurant, bar or other event, John Friday is the perfect choice for your entertainment.
For an added “island touch,” John is also available as part of the duo, The Caribbean Connection, with the award-winning Dave Lapio on the steel pan. Playing a mix of reggae, soca, calypso, rock, salsa, and even country tunes, The Caribbean Connection is your connection to hot island-style music!
John has built a steadily growing following throughout Florida and the eastern seaboard, playing numerous venues and special events, as well as performng for many of the region's Parrothead clubs. His original songs have charted on several internet radio stations.
