Overview

I have been playing professionally for 25+ years in a very wide range of settings. Having spent the last fifteen years in Charleston, SC, I played solo at The Charleston Place Hotel, Halls Chophouse, Rita's Seaside Grill, and many other places. I played all the big venues in town with bands. I have recently been hired by Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.

I have played in tributes from Jimmy Buffett, Grateful Dead, Phish, Tom Petty, JJ Cale, and many more. I can start the night with mellow "cocktail hour" music and pick up the pace at the end of the night to have people dancing or singing along. From New Orleans blues to Motown favorites to Van Morrison, I've got you covered.

So talented!

I was lucky enough to have Jimmy play for an office appreciation/open house party at my office on Folly Beach. Needless to say, he was amazing! Everyone enjoyed the event and honestly the music drew many people in just walking by. I highly recommend Jimmy for any event if you want a talented, professional musician. He is definitely the best "piano man"!

Talented musician and terrific entertainer!

I serve as the Events Coordinator for the Wolf Laurel Property Owners Association, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Jimmy Landry for our annual holiday celebration, attended by both staff and POA members. From start to finish, Jimmy was the consummate professional—arriving punctually, fully self-sufficient with his equipment, and completely set up well in advance of the event.

His performance was exceptional. Jimmy delivered a beautifully curated mix of holiday classics, timeless blues, and tasteful instrumental pieces that created the perfect ambiance during dinner service. He is not only a remarkably talented pianist, but also a soulful, engaging vocalist whose artistry truly elevated the entire evening.

Beyond his musical talent, Jimmy brought a warm, inviting presence to the event. He connected effortlessly with guests, engaging in lighthearted banter, smiling often, and creating an atmosphere of genuine joy and celebration. His enthusiasm was contagious, and our guests absolutely loved him.

Jimmy Landry exceeded every expectation, and I am delighted to have already secured him for another WLPOA event this summer. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

What to expect

The audience will get whatever the situation requires! If the event calls for a quieter, jazzy cocktail hour, no problem. If you want some sing-along favorites, no problem. If you want some more upbeat New Orleans style blues, classic rock, old favorites, etc, no problem.

I don't do really do many of today's hits. I like the classics that everyone knows and likes to hear. Upbeat or low-key, I will read the room or adjust to the event setting.

About

Jimmy Landry grew up playing classical piano and then, after college and the military, started playing with rock, blues, funk, country, and other bands. His love for all types of music is shown through his playing and ever-present smile while on stage. Having grown up in Kinston, NC, Landry began traveling while in the Army. Since then, he has visited numerous countries, having played music almost everywhere he has been. His love for adventure, learning, and life is shown through his songwriting as well as the diverse repertoire he has built.

Landry has released two albums of solo material with a third on the way. He has played with countless cover bands and with tributes to acts such as Jimmy Buffett, Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Widespread Panic, Phish, JJ Cale, and more. A high-demand keyboardist in the band setting, Landry also brings great energy to the stage performing solo.

Additional booking notes

I don't require anything besides power. I will bring my own equipment (keyboard, PA speaker, microphone, stands, etc). It is great if the event will already have any of this provided, but I can show up with everything I need.

If there's already a piano at the venue, I will gladly use that. I will just need to know if I need to bring equipment to be able to sing as well. I can gladly do all instrumentals, too.
