Piano jazz, solo or combo, for club and parties, formal or informal; this is music for everything from wedding receptions to New Years Eve gala. Jim has toured Europe with his own ensemble and has played coast to coast. Styles include jazz, R&B and renditions of standards and pop tunes. He can create an ambiance for background or give the sounds of a one man band, playing trombone and vibraphone sounds against a recorded trio backup.
Music was perfect. Communication was great. We weren't able to have the full experience for part of the event because of a small snafu, but other than that was perfect.
Jim Wray on the keyboard and trombone and Steve Michael Smith on the guitar literally had the crowd swooning. Their music was exquisite. The folks involved in the Art Showcase at the RVCC near Nellysford kept coming over to me and telling me how wonderful this music was to them. The melodies were smooth and just the right degree of loudness. Jim and Michael played beautifully together, always in sync. It was great light sweet jazz and divine.
Jim Wray is entertaining, polite and a good musician. He came to my house party and was a hit of the party. Great value for good music.
Thanks so much for your excellent music at the company holiday party. I highly recommend you if any one is looking for a real professional piano player. Job Well Done!
Jim is one of the best. High level of professionalism. You get a sense he loves what he does and its not all about money with him. He took the time to rehearse with our daughter who sang at our wedding at no extra cost. Highly recommended !!
Jim Wray brought a beautiful, lively and totally magical musical presence to our daughter's surprise 40th birthday party. From the first song he played as she walked in the room to the numerous renditions of "happy birthday," Jim was able to provide exactly the right music for every moment of the affair.
The Jim Wray Jazz trio entertained at our holiday party of about 150 people last year. Jim was a pleasure to work with and his music is delightful. He was very professional, prompt, fun and talented. I recently attended an event at the Omni where Jim was playing and found the trio to be very eventertaining once again. I hope to hire Jim for our upcoming 2012 events.
Jim Wray was great entertainment for a party of about 50 people. He was fun, music was delightful. We continue to receive lovely comments about the party. He was prompt, delivered all he said he would and more. Highly recommend him.
I highly recommend Jim Wray after experiencing firsthand his outstanding commitment to his craft and honesty as a businessman. Jim played for my wedding reception and managed a quintet who did a phenomenal job with a set list of jazz standards. Throughout the planning process Jim was kind enough to advise of additional musicians to augment what had been a trio into something much more lively and exciting for our guests. Jim was transparent in his communication, quick to answer my questions, punctual and helpful. His group adapted easily to ad hoc toasts and speeches, grand introductions, and even assumed some MC responsibilities. Best of all, he was fairly priced! Guests raved about the music all night and weeks after the wedding.
Jim played during our wedding reception and did an excellent job. He provided the perfect background music during our dinner reception and helped to create a very lively and enjoyable atmosphere. We received multiple compliments on Jim's performance from our guests and I would definitely recommend him. He is a talented musician and we couldn't have been happier with his work.
I have had Jim Wray provide music numerous times and he is always professional and well received. He often brings other performers with him and they are always of the highest caliber. I expect to have Jim here many times in the future, Dan Herlond, Owner, Thai Mex restaurant.
Being a restaurant owner and a small concert promoter I have the most respect for Jim Wray. He is a very talented jazz pianist and always makes you feel welcome and has a memorable glow about him when working with him. He surrounds himself with many of the areas finest musicians.I would have him every month if I could. He makes your customers smile. John Huggins
