I have played piano my whole life. I attended Lawrence University as a voice major, but after college I sang and played full-time at piano bars and supper clubs. Eventually, I joined a wedding band - Easy Pieces - and we played many weddings in the 80's and 90's. I still make music with some of those people.

I was a church choir accompanist for many years, playing in both traditional and contemporary services.

I've worked as an accompanist for other vocalists (my singing days are done) and instumentalists. I love the great American songbook of standards.

I play with a couple of big bands but I enjoy working in smaller groups, duos and trios. My normal duo is piano and bass. A trio would add a drummer, instrumentalist or singer. I believe in good listening music at a comfortable volume.

I currently enjoy jam sessions with friends.

I have my own keyboard and amplifier which I use at venues that don't have an acoustic piano. Typically, I prefer to play the entire time I'm scheduled. Normal gigs are 2-3 sometimes 4 hours.
