About
Grammy nominated, contemporary jazz mallet artist, Jerry Tachoir has been a Musser artist/clinician since 1972 when the Keylon marimba was first introduced. Jerry is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston and was the first to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in applied vibes and marimba. Mr. Tachoir is the author of “A Contemporary Mallet Method - an approach to the Vibraphone and Marimba” published by Riohcat Music. Other Tachoir publications include “Solo Vibraphone Collection” - 6 original unaccompanied solo vibe compositions. “Design” is a piece for Vibraphone and Marimba, and “Sonatazz” - for Marimba and piano - a contemporary classical composition in three movements.

Mr. Tachoir was the first to release a one-hour educational Vibraphone video published by the Master Study Series.
Jerry and the Group Tachoir have performed at most of the major concert halls and jazz festivals throughout the US, Canada, and Europe of which some of the most recent are: the Northsea Jazz Festival - Holland, the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival - Switzerland, the Montreal International Festival de Jazz, the Mellon Jazz Festival - Pittsburgh, Pa. etc.
Jerry has been one of the most active and in demand artist/clinicians over the years for the Musser mallet instrument co. He has performed for numerous Percussive Arts Society International Conventions, PAS Days of Percussion, lectured and gave masterclasses at most of the Colleges and Universities with music programs.
