Jerry Proppe

I bring all the gear: Lights, PA, Keyboard and grand piano shell.

I am self contained, I am a good problem solver and know how to read a room.

I also bring a smile and an interest in connecting with people and sharing some joy!

Jerry started playing piano at a young age and played all through his education. Having graduated from the University of Calgary with a BComm, Jerry found himself drawn back to music as a career. Jerry recorded and toured extensively as a solo artist, playing and singing original music, surrounded by keyboards and technology. Jerry honed a warm and personable way of connecting with any audience through years of experience. This was the beginning of a lifelong career in music.

In his recording studio, Jerry created many albums for a score of different artists. Jerry has played piano for Stage West dinner theatres in Calgary and Toronto, and worked for many years as the music director of a local church. Currently he is the assistant director of the New West Symphony Chorus in Calgary, where he directs, orchestrates, and arranges music.

As a piano vocalist, Jerry has developed a hefty repertoire of everything from crooners to the pop hits of the last few decades. Jerry loves to take familiar well loved songs and reinterpret them for piano and voice. The harmonic, rhythmic and melodic expressions connect people with each other and with the language of their heart.

Jerry resides in Calgary with his wife Christine. They have three adult children. Most mornings Jerry can be found at the piano practising anything from Bach to Billy Joel.

I bring all the gear, for a small to mid sized room. For larger rooms, I can help with advise and expertise on sound and lighting.
