Jeff Ryan

Jeff Ryan is a drummer / multi instrumentalist who resides in Dallas, TX.

Over the years he has recorded and / or toured with St. Vincent, The War on
Drugs, Daniel Johnston, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down, Songhoy Blues,
Sarah Jaffe, The Baptist Generals, Pleasant Grove, MOTORCADE, Black Tie
Dynasty, Jackson Scribner, Doug Burr, Garrett Owen, Blue Mountain and his
own ambient / instrumental project Myopic.

He has worked with labels 4AD, Sub Pop, Kill Rock Stars, Secretly Canadian,
Touch and Go, Badman Recording Co, Glitterhouse Records (Germany), Kirtland
and Simulacra.

Jeff did extensive touring with Sarah Jaffe across the US, Europe, the UK and
Ireland, supporting Midlake from Germany to Norway and ending up in the
Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. Played in Alaska w/ St. Vincent after
recording on her “Actor” LP and sat in on the creative sessions for The War on
Drugs 'Lost in The Dream' LP along with tracking drums to the track 'I Was There' on
their album 'Slave Ambient'. He also did multiple stints in Europe with Pleasant
Grove having been signed to the German label, Glitterhouse Records as well as
touring the states w/ the Denton based Baptist Generals in support of their two
Sub Pop releases.

Jeff is also a contributor to Modern Drummer Magazine where he's interviewed
and written about Budgie & Lol Tolhurst from Siouxsie & the Banshees / The
Cure, David Abbruzzese from Pearl Jam, Martin Bulloch from Mogwai, Josh
Block (Leon Bridges), A&F Drum Co. as well as contributing his own educational
columns in the Rock n Jazz section.
