Overview

Jayne Illusionist is not a typical “pick-a-dard-any-card magician.”

Jayne’s unique offerings offer options for both corporate magic and theatrical magic.

Her corporate offerings entertain, while building teams and exploring creative practices that boost morale, She provide Keynotes and Workshops inspired by Creativity Theory, Neuroscience and Emerging Technologies (like AI) in the context of entertaining wonder.

Her theatrical shows explore creation of illusions and realities found in the possible improbabilities founded in human experiences, perceptions and interpretations.

Jayne’s unique experiences motivate and delight audiences, making your event (and you) unforgettable.

About

I was born in the mystical Catskill Mountains of New York, into a magical family. My father studied magic with his vaudevillian uncle, and in turn, I apprenticed with Dad. Later, my daughter joined the show; it's a four-generation tradition.

My first stage appearance was at two years old, while Dad sang Me and My Shadow. I was the shadow. From there, I grew into the role—as a cute little kid carrying props on and off stage, then becoming his assistant, and eventually the opening act, specializing in street and close-up magic.

Dad taught me to love audiences, the craft, and the wonder of illusion. He performed classic stage magic in black tuxedo tails and a top hat. His show was amazing and fun, and it ultimately inspired my own “Laughs, Wonders, and Illusions” production.

Eventually, I struck out on my own, though Dad and I continued to perform together often. As peers, we created larger shows and more ambitious illusions. We dreamed of performing full-time. That dream was cut short when he passed unexpectedly at 54. Later, I lived the dream for us both.

I created and performed “Laughs, Wonders, and Illusions” for boardrooms, special events, fundraisers, and audiences ranging from businesses to civic groups.

It was a great show, but artistically, I struggled with two questions. First, much of the material from books, mentors, and magic dealers felt tired and overplayed. Second, I wondered: could magic be more than deception for entertainment? What is magic, and why do it? When COVID paused live performances, I locked myself in my studio and vowed never to say “pick a card” or “that’s going too far” again—after all, how can illusion have logical limits?

Out of that period came Manifestations of Imagination, a theatrical séance performed at private gatherings to great success. That show will return in Fall 2025.

In 2022, I wrote and premiered Strange Tales of Loves and Devotions, a narrative illusion show exploring emotions at the edge of human relationships and reality itself.

In 2024, I began to explore the intersection between perception and interpretation. I discovered that, if only for a few minutes, magic could open a window to endless possibilities—and travel home with the audience, changing the way they see the world.

I continue to explore perceptions and interpretations as they create realities and possible improbabilities. Come along on the adventure!

Additional booking notes

Technical requirements depend on the offering, but are generally driven by the audience size and venue.

For small classroom or boardroom sized presentations, generally a microphone is not required, larger groups and spaces require sound amplification and a hand-held microphone. Ideally a Bluetooth or usb connection would be available for sound effects and music.
