I’m Jay Nyze—a spoken word artist, poet, and MC with more than 15 years of experience bringing words to life. From New York City’s legendary Bowery Poetry Café to stages across South Florida, I bring rhythm, personality, humor, and heart to every performance.

My poetry comes from living, learning, loving, and finding my voice through it all. I write about love, identity, growth, frustration, confidence, and the everyday experiences that connect us. Some pieces bring laughter, some invite reflection, and others deliver that little push we all need to keep moving forward.

My style is expressive, honest, and rooted in storytelling. I love creating those moments when someone hears a line and thinks, “That’s exactly how I feel.” Whether I’m sharing a personal story or getting a room involved in call-and-response, connection is at the center of what I do.

I perform for schools, youth programs, community events, celebrations, corporate gatherings, and private occasions. My performances are tailored to the audience, with clean, age-appropriate material available for young people and professional settings, as well as mature content for adult audiences.

When requesting a quote, please include your event date, location, event type, audience age range, approximate guest count, and desired performance or hosting length.

Sound and setup:
For larger spaces or events, please arrange a working microphone and sound system appropriate for the venue. Smaller, intimate gatherings may not require amplification. We’ll confirm setup needs before the event.

Custom poetry:
Please share the theme, occasion, important names and pronunciations, personal details, and any message you want included. We’ll agree on a preparation timeline before confirming custom work.

Pricing and travel:
Quotes depend on performance length, custom writing, hosting responsibilities, location, and travel requirements. Any travel charges will be included in your quote.
