Building What Connects Us — Busy culture has put us in the human version of airplane mode: physically present, relationally offline. Using LEGO® bricks as a metaphor, Jay shows that a single brick is nearly useless alone. Its power is only in the connection. Audiences receive a physical brick to take with them. Built on the three pillars of the Just Human philosophy: Connection to Self, Connection to Others, Connection to Shared Purpose.

Inspire Through Story — Leaders don't have a skills gap; they have a communication problem. They've been trained to communicate as a role rather than a person, and their teams can tell. Jay teaches a four-step framework: Anchor, Tension, Turn, Transfer, plus three plug-and-play story structures for the all-hands, the hard feedback conversation, and the vision pitch.

The 0.1% Problem — We share 99.9% of our DNA. Yet workplaces inflate the 0.1% through misread tone, assumed intent, and the stories we tell ourselves until THAT becomes the 100% that defines us. Audiences leave with three "0.1% Spotter" questions, four language shifts, and five reset moves for meetings and conflict.

He has run the meetings, delivered the bad news, inherited a broken team, and watched talented people quietly go "relationally offline" while everyone stayed busy. That experience is the engine behind his work. He doesn't speak about leadership from a theoretical perspective. He speaks about it from the room.

Today Jay helps corporate, nonprofit, and educational organizations build cultures where people show up fully. His keynotes are story-rich, high-energy, and practical; grounded in research from Gallup, Google's Project Aristotle, and behavioral science, but delivered in plain language a team can use on Monday morning. Jay is a certified Insights Discovery practitioner and a trained LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator, which lets him take a keynote deeper into workshops and team experiences when an organization wants lasting change instead of a good day. Based in Castle Rock, Colorado, Jay travels nationwide and internationally. When he's not on stage, he's on the lake with his wife or in the kitchen making his award-winning seafood gumbo.

Every talk is tailored. Before the event, Jay will want a short discovery call to understand the audience, the theme, and the specific friction you're trying to solve. No pitch, no canned deck.
Minimal slides. Jay speaks from the room, not from the screen. Slides are a light support, never the show. If you'd prefer no slides at all, that works too.
He can bring his own laptop and clicker. He simply needs HDMI connectivity to house AV. If your venue requires a different setup, tell him, and he'll adapt.
Workshop add-ons: Insights Discovery sessions require participant profiles completed in advance (Jay will provide the process and timeline). LEGO® Serious Play® sessions require round tables and additional room setup — see Stage/Setup.
Recording: Photo and video capture of the keynote is welcome and encouraged, with the understanding that Jay may use excerpts in his own marketing.
Book/resource table: Happy to have one if the venue allows, and to stay afterward for conversation and Q&A.
Travel: Based in Castle Rock, CO. Available nationwide and internationally. Standard travel and lodging terms apply for events outside the Denver metro area.
