I love any opportunity to play beautiful music: wedding ceremonies, background music for parties (holiday, cocktail hour, anniversary, engagement, corporate), accompanying soloists and small groups, and leading sing-alongs for all ages.
I have been playing piano and organ professionally for over 20 years. I teach piano, play keys in a band, and pre-pandemic led a church choir. Over the years I've had the privilege to play for many special services and events, each one unique.
I am available for both religious and non-religious events.

As event background music I include consultation, setup, and tear-down in my quote. I will collect your song requests prior to the event to make sure your favorites are played. I will also provide you with a direct link to my song request website if you'd like to give your guests the opportunity to make song requests for your upcoming event. Your DO NOT PLAY song list will be strictly adhered to when considering your guests' requests. I'll play through the event with minimal break time discussed in advance and included in our contract.
With me as your wedding ceremony musician, you will have an experienced musician providing background music as guests arrive and exit, as well as all specially selected songs during the ceremony. Your ceremony can have as much or as little music as you'd like: featured songs for the candle lighting/sand/unity ritual. a soloist or duet, one or more hymns, light instrumental music accompanying your vows, etc. Let's personalize your ceremony to make it memorable for you as a couple.
I want to make your ceremony all about you and what you want for your special day. I will find your special song requests, whether it's an old hymn, your favorite pop or country hit, or an Irish jig to celebrate your fiancé's heritage. I also will coordinate behind the scenes with your wedding planner and/or the officiant to make sure I know what I need to do to disappear into the background.
With a band director and a home daycare operator as parents, I grew up surrounded by music. At my first recital at age 5, my feet couldn't reach the floor so they kicked along with the music as I played and sang (to the surprise of my parents AND my piano teacher) my selected Christmas tunes. I've loved playing piano ever since.
I am a professional musician. I previously served as head organist at a church for a number of years and am used to preparing and playing a variety of song selections. My music library is always growing. Other than church services, I'm most commonly hired to play for weddings and funerals, but I also have accompanied special performances, played in pit orchestras for student productions, accompanied soloists, and provided background music for parties. When you hire me for an event you are getting my years of training, countless hours of practice, my musical knowledge and support, and my years of experience.
As a part of the praise team at my church, I play for Sunday services once or twice a month. Music also keeps me busy several nights a week with piano lessons. These standing obligations are not listed on my GigSalad calendar, but please know I will keep these in mind when considering my availability for your event.
Many venues have a piano or organ available, no additional setup or equipment required. If not, I have a quality professional keyboard. I am thrilled to offer this additional service to my customers with only the minimal requirement of access to an electrical outlet (I have all cords necessary and will be able to set up out of the way of your guests).
