Jamilah Renae

Jamilah was hired to perform at a birthday party. She told me that she would write a personal poem about the person having the birthday party (me). She informed me at the party that she did not prepare the poem after all. I asked her, beforehand, to share some material that would be fun or funny. My guests felt she was too depressing for a party. The worst part of her performance was that she actually "read her poems from random sheets of paper she had in her hand." She did not have anything memorized, she did not "read" with expression like a spoken word artist would do. I was very disappointed in the performance and was actually shocked at what I was hearing and seeing. The amount of money she charged me was way too much for what I received. I would not recommend her for any paid events.

I was very disappointed. Ugly Beauty didn't show for my event. She sent me a message 10 minutes before the event started and told me she couldn't come. I do understand that things come up , but I wouldn't recommend this artist.
