James Robbins is a Houston-area guitarist and vocalist whose performances bring together classical technique, musical versatility, and a polished professional presence. His repertoire spans classical and Latin guitar, jazz standards, country and western, blues, folk, and Americana, allowing him to tailor his music to everything from an elegant wedding ceremony to a relaxed private gathering.

As a classical guitarist, James performs works by composers including J.S. Bach, Fernando Sor, Mauro Giuliani, Francisco Tárrega, and Agustín Barrios. His wedding repertoire includes favorites such as Sheep May Safely Graze, Sleepers Awake, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and Romanza. He also performs vocal and guitar arrangements of jazz standards, country, blues, folk, and Americana selections.

James performs throughout the Houston area for weddings, cocktail hours, corporate events, private dinners, restaurants, parties, memorials, church events, and concerts. Performances can be entirely instrumental, feature guitar and vocals, or combine the two according to the client’s needs.

Equally comfortable playing unamplified in an intimate room or providing professional sound for a larger gathering, James adapts his setup to the venue and occasion. Clients can expect accomplished musicianship, professional attire, courteous service, and a performer who understands that the music should complement the event—not compete with it.

For events, James requires approximately 25 square feet of performance space and access to 1 standard 110-volt outlet. He provides all necessary sound equipment for audiences up to around 150 guests. Lighting is not required as he brings his own stand light. Volume levels are kept appropriate for the setting, never overpowering conversation. For outdoor events, shade or cover is required, and performances are best in temperatures under 90 degrees.
