Feature show: James offers a feature show entitled “Beauty in the Brokenness.” This show is a combination of storytelling and performance of James’s catalogue of original music in a laid back acoustic concert format. This show is offered to inside and outside venues. James has taken his life story from immigrating to the US from England, through the loss of a large amount of his eyesight and hearing, struggles with suicide and depression, traveling across the country in a tiny house and more, and packaged these stories into bite size chunks supported with songs he has written. This show is an uplifting and connecting show that gives voice to the struggles of everyone. Topics include suicide prevention, depression, betrayal, and all the ways that these issues and stories were redeemed over time. It is truly a must see event. This event is typically hosted in churches, but can be hosted anywhere. The event has not been filmed as of yet, so a church willing to film this event may qualify for a deeply discounted rate. Background music: James offers a wide range of background music. You will connect with James in the weeks and/ or days leading up to the event to communicate the style and bank of music you would like for your event. Left to his preferences and decision making, James typically leans into a country/ folk and acoustic pop cover song bank, but remains sensitive at all times to the context of your event. James can offer religious, non religious, original, and cover music. James can also learn songs for your event.

Opener act: James offers an opening act services for concerts you may be hosting or planning or that your band might be putting on. In this environment, James typically leans into the performance of original material, but can customize his offering to suit your context and venue. James can also fill in for a vocal and/ or guitarist need in your band if needed!

Fundraising music: For those who are looking to put on a concert as part of a fundraising endeavor, James can tailor a song list specific to your venue, audience, and context. Please message for details.

Wedding: James will work with the wedding planner and couple to plan out a song list suiting their wedding perfectly. James has 16 years of worship leading experience in churches, so he is professional and highly experienced in the coupling of music to these types of services. James will learn any songs requested and do everything he can to enhance your special day!

Fill in musician: James can serve as a singer and/ or guitarist for your band or a worship leader for your church. If this can be planned ahead, James will learn your repertoire and serve as a rhythm/ lead guitarist whether that is on acoustic or electric. In a pinch, James can operate as a guitarist just based on knowing the keys of the songs you’ll be performing.

Audio engineering: James has a BASc and a decade of experience in audio engineering. James can operate your sound system, or bring a compact system of his own suitable for most smaller scale events even outdoor background music.

James Honey is a musician, author, songwriter and more! James has been a musician for over 20 years, and has led bands across the country. He has served as a band leader, solo act, background music provider, feature show, lead guitarist, singer, and even sound engineer. James has been featured on western night performing the national anthem for NBA team Denver Nuggets, and has had articles published on his book “Broken Foundation.”

James earned a BASc in audio engineering and has been tuning and operating sound systems for 10 years. He works on his own instruments and has even provided instrument repair, maintenance and customization services.

James is a prolific songwriter and cover artist, and both of those elements transfer to an ability to serve many forms of events. Tech requirements heavily depend on your specific needs and which service of mine will best suit your event. That being said, James is a powerful singer and musician who can operate 100% unplugged acoustic, operate on a sound system you provide, secure one for you (added cost,) or bring his own. In the event you desire James to provide a sound system, you will need to ensure safe, clean power is available at the venue site. (If this is a generator, it will need to be an inverter generator that provides clean power.)
