Overview
Jala is a professional Belly Dancer who is also a Certified & Licensed E-29 Fire performer based in the Tri State Area residing in Brooklyn. She has training in traditional Egyptian bellydance. Performances can be created for any occasion. She’s known to be hypnotic, charming, and fearless. She is a well seasoned versatile performer in multiple dance styles. She also sings, taps on her toes and is a stilt walker!
Jala's show may include Isis Wings, Veil, Cane, Candles or Fire Fans. A variety of styles of performance and dance can also be infused into the show upon request. Solo shows can be 15 to 45 minutes in length.

Jala helped me coordinate a surprise for a bachelorette party - she came to my house dressed and in makeup, snuck out to give us a a quick preview/performance and then we had a 50 minute class with her! She was so fun and understanding of what terrible dancers we were! I really feel like we learned the basics of belly dancing and we had fun doing it!

Janet is friendly, understanding and an excellent performer! She made the entire process very easy and responded to all my messages quickly and efficiently. Janet arrived on time and communication with me when she was en route. She was very accommodating when a few of my guests ran late and put on an amazing show for myself and my guests. Everyone at my birthday party was very impressed with her skill level and we enjoyed watching her do her dance routine. Highly recommend Janet and I hope to work with her again for future events !

About
Janet Huey is a Performer, Specialty Artist, Choreographer and Producer.
Janet began dancing at the age of three and choreographed her first dance show to Shania Twain’s “Man, I Feel Like A Woman” in her living room at eight. This deep love of performance led her to study Musical Theater at AMDA in LA. This ultimately brought her to her current home in NY where her bicoastal lifestyle allows her to flourish in all avenues of art.
From musicals to music videos, she’s a real triple threat who also specializes in fire, bellydance and burlesque. She's performed and produced events that include 1 performer up to 100 performers. Creating unforgettable evenings of performance and endless entertainment and activations for events from the Corporate world to Weddings to Birthday surprises and everything in between!
As a Choreographer, Janet has an extensive resume creating and developing live stage shows, immersive events, and music videos. Recent music videos include Makers Mark by Copyslut, Body Roll by Ja’Shayla, Ain’t I Am Woman by Pauline Jean.
As an Actress, Janet was the lead in the micro series Object Affection which explores her dry humor with an Armchair as her costar. She had the opportunity to bring her love of astrology to life playing a Witch in How To Treat A Snakebite. She’s been seen twirling about at the New Amsterdam Theater, The Triad Theater, the Actors Temple in NYC all the way west to a full house at the MGM Grand in Vegas.
As a Creative Solutionist, Janet has been known to solve problems on the fly in every aspect of her life and career and is frequently consulting in every genre of entertainment. She is a firm believer that there is no “I” in team and loves that it takes a village to create. Everyone’s presence on the team brings value and is an asset to the creative process.
She loves sushi, swarovski’s and spin class.
Additional booking notes
DJ or Sound system is vital to the ease of the show. A flat surface area for performance is ideal. Any show including Isis wings and fire both need high ceilings, although the Isis wings can manage if need be with lower ceilings.

Set list
Each set will have the framework of starting with an extravagant opening which includes the Isis wings, in red or gold, an exciting hip dropping drum, a light hearted zill dance and of course some songs to get all of your guests up and moving and shaking on their feet. The show is designed to bring your guests on a journey through the art of belly dance and make it an experience they will never forget! Jala makes sure your guests are having an unforgettable night made of beautiful memories, with hopes of kodak moments on the dance floor!
