The J Houston Band consisting of Jim Houston, Carolyn Houston, and Rob Joanisse enjoy the challenge of performing original and familiar cover material as a power trio. Strong elements of blues underscore many of their original compositions as well as elements of rock and jazz. The band has years of experience playing a wide range of styles adjusting their set list to fit the needs of the audience.
Highlights for the band include opening for acclaimed blues harpist Carlos del Junco, blues guitarist JW Jones, Juno award winner Crystal Shawanda and playing the Toronto Fringe Festival. The band has also had many songs featured on internet radio in Canada, the United States and the UK.

We offer a well rehearsed and professional show. We thoroughly enjoy playing and display this to the audience. We gear our sets to the type of event and are very flexible about meeting the needs of the client. We endeavour to provide a sound that is enjoyable for the listener and the dancer. We provide our own equipment including PA and lighting.
The J Houston Band is a power trio consisting of Jim Houston on guitar and vocals, Carolyn Saini on bass and back up vocals, and Rob Joanisse on percussion. The group performs a unique repertoire, of original and cover tunes, within the unique style of the group. The band has just completed their fourth CD, all of which are available on Spotify, iTunes and most other sites.
The focus of the band is to write and develop an ever growing list of original material. The band thrives on performing and recording their original music as well as blues rock covers. They have gained notoriety for their ability to provide something unique in a blues rocking style.
