A lot of people wonder where the name for my business comes from. Well, it started a few years ago with a sermon. I know, it probably sounds cheesy, but it is what it is! Anyway, I heard a very encouraging message about what it means to be inspired; one hears the word often, but the origin of it had never before occurred to me. The definition above is essentially what it boiled down to, and when the Greek etymology of the word was articulated to me that Sunday morning I began to mull it over in my mind again and again: To have life and spirit flow through something by breath… to infuse with life by breath. It was in this moment that I started thinking about my journey as a photographer.

I won’t lie and say that I have been a student of photography all my life, but since I can remember I have always been intrigued by the art of framing isolated moments, gazes, and scenes by way of the still lens – from Polaroid, to those weird skinny rectangle cameras with the attachable plastic flash (remember those?!) to a 35mm and now by digital means. My mother would chide me because I spent more time behind a camera rather than in front of it. Friends often avoided me at parties because I was always the one insisting that every action, smile, and dance move be captured! As it turns out, I found I had a deep affinity for this form of artistry, and my passionate pursuit of it turned from hobby to career endeavor.
