What to expect

When you hire me for your event, you’re not just getting a singer — you’re getting an experience that’s professional, polished, and fully tailored to your audience. I pride myself on reading the room, honoring the tone and purpose of your event, and delivering a show that’s both memorable and meaningful. Whether you're looking for high-energy entertainment or a more relaxed and acoustic atmosphere, I can adapt the set and flow to fit your vision exactly.

I’m a one-man show that sounds like a full band. Using live looping, professional backing tracks, keyboard, acoustic/electric guitars, and dynamic vocals, I bring the energy and feel of a full live concert while remaining compact and budget-friendly. It’s the best of both worlds: the flexibility of a solo performer, with the sound and excitement of a full ensemble.

My performances are built around connection and storytelling. My signature show, “Sing Through It!”, takes audiences on a journey through the soundtrack of life — the songs that help us fall in love, find ourselves, recover from heartbreak, rediscover hope, or celebrate new beginnings. The show can feature crowd-pleasing hits across decades and genres, a few of my original songs, and personal stories that make the experience feel intimate and human. And if the event calls for a more stripped-back vibe, I’m just as comfortable delivering a heartfelt acoustic performance.

Clients and audiences consistently tell me how much they appreciate my passion, professionalism, and the care I put into every show. I take my calling seriously — to uplift, inspire, and create joy through music — and I don’t leave until I’ve given everything I’ve got.

So, whether it’s a corporate party, private event, house concert, wedding, church festival, or something else entirely, you can trust that I’ll show up prepared, enthusiastic, and ready to help make your event unforgettable.

About

AJ Raggs — Pop/Rock Vocalist, Multi-Instrumentalist & Live Performer

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, AJ Raggs (Angelo Ragghianti) has been performing for nearly 20 years. What began with a love of singing at eight years old has grown into a career as a professional singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and live entertainer.

AJ brings the energy and sound of a full band to a dynamic one-man show, combining powerhouse vocals with live looping, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboard, and professional backing tracks. His setup allows him to create an exciting, concert-style experience without the footprint of a traditional band — while also giving him the flexibility to strip everything back for an intimate acoustic performance. Most importantly, the show is built around the event. AJ can provide energetic entertainment for a party or community celebration, sophisticated live music for a corporate or private event, an intimate house concert, family-friendly entertainment, holiday music, or a full concert experience. Setlists, instrumentation, energy level, and presentation can all be tailored to the audience. His repertoire centers around pop and pop/rock, combining recognizable crowd favorites with select original music. Influences range from Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber and Knox to Journey and The Beatles, giving AJ the versatility to connect with audiences across generations while maintaining a contemporary sound.

Career Highlights
AJ's career has taken him from intimate Nashville listening rooms to major stages. He has performed in Times Square in New York City for the UN International Day of Peace and opened for legendary rock band STARSHIP featuring Mickey Thomas. His original music has also reached listeners around the world, accumulating more than 2.5 million streams across platforms, led by his song My Kinda People. Other performance credits include Nashville's Bluebird Café and 3rd & Lindsley, the Millvale Music Festival, Carnegie Mellon University's Fourth of July Celebration and Orientation events, The Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, PCG Opry Mills Unplugged, and numerous music venues, listening rooms, private clubs and community events in Nashville and Pittsburgh. AJ has also performed with the Rick Purcell Big Band at Pittsburgh's Medallion Ball and Cinderella Ball and alongside Pittsburgh rock legend Norman Nardini. His extensive live experience includes private parties, corporate events, weddings, restaurants, bars, fundraisers, festivals, fairs, block parties, holiday events, churches, schools, retirement communities, writer's rounds and listening rooms.

Professional Training
Behind AJ's contemporary sound is an extensive musical education.
AJ earned his BFA in Vocal Performance with University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 2017, where he studied classical voice under baritone Daniel Teadt. AJ also studied jazz voice and piano at the Afro American Music Institute in Homewood, PA under Dr. James Johnson III, and Howard Alexander. His background includes training and performance experience in contemporary pop, rock, classical voice, opera, jazz and musical theatre. He has also studied privately with renowned vocal coach Mindy Pack, whose client list has included artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Noah Kahan, Alex Warren, Justin Timberlake, Miley Cyrus, and more. AJ's musical training extends beyond voice to guitar and piano, and he has continued developing his craft as a songwriter through Nashville's professional songwriting community. That combination of nearly two decades onstage and extensive formal training gives AJ the ability to deliver the excitement of a pop/rock performance with the vocal consistency and professionalism expected at a private or corporate event.

A Show Built Around Your Audience
AJ believes great live entertainment isn't about simply showing up with a predetermined setlist — it's about reading the room and creating the right experience for the people in it. A performance can be upbeat and interactive, relaxed and conversational, acoustic and intimate, or somewhere in between. His compact one-man setup also makes it possible to bring a surprisingly big sound into spaces where a traditional full band may not be practical. For dedicated concerts and house shows, AJ can also incorporate elements of his signature “Sing Through It!” concept: a show built around the idea that every chapter of life has songs that help carry us through it. Through recognizable covers, original music and storytelling, the show explores everything from falling in love and chasing dreams to setbacks, faith, starting over and celebrating the good times.

Whether AJ is performing for 30 people in a living room or stepping onto a major stage, the goal remains the same: give the audience a great show, connect with them, and leave them happier than when he arrived.
If you're looking for a vocalist and musician who can bring professionalism, versatility, strong musicianship and genuine energy to your event, AJ would love to help make it memorable.

Additional booking notes

I have my own keyboard and guitar that I can bring to events, but I always prefer to use a real piano if one is available. If your event calls for a larger sound system, I will be able to rent the equipment. I can fit into small corners, large stages and anywhere in between. I also would need to be in a well lit area, with access to a power supply. Please provide as much information as possible when asking for a quote so I am able to give you an accurate estimate.
