About

Musicians Brock Painter (trumpet and flugelhorn) and guitarist Justin Sanford met in in 2013, while Sanford was performing with the light blues and jazz group "Dada." Painter would go on to Sanford in "Dada" as they performed for nearly two years in the Pawley's Island area.

The group "Dada" dissolved in early 2014, as guitarist Justin Sanford looked to dedicate himself to the jazz idiom. Members of the newly defunct "Dada"-Sanford, Brock Painter, and vocalist Paula Cross went onto form a new group called "Nice Ideas Jazz Collective."

The group played together from 2014 until early spring of 2016. The group performed from Murrells Inlet to Little River-including a performance for Relay For Life at Broadway at the Beach in 2016.
