Idlewild South

As a Classic Rock Band, we primarily perform as a 5 piece group. However, should your event need a more “mellow” laid back style, we have the ability and versatility to perform as an “acoustic” type group that can consist of 3 piece, 4 piece or all 5 pieces.

Idlewild South (Revisited)

Idlewild South started out in the early 70’s in Banning, CA. All of the members had gone to grade school and middle school together and decided to utilize their love for music and start a band. As the members grew up through high school and college, the band began to grow and expand as other members joined the group. The result was a powerhouse high energy rock band, Idlewild South. By the mid 70’s, the band was playing the club circuit throughout the Inland Empire. By the late 80’s although the band broke up and the members all moved on personally, each member continued to play music professionally in other local and regional groups, from the Inland Empire to Phoenix Az.

However, because the band members were a musical family, on an annual basis, Idlewild South would get together and have a “reunion” with the majority of its members.

As a result, we’ve gotten the band back together! The current line up includes original members, Randy Rice on guitar and vocals and Dave King on drums and vocals. Other long-time members include Kevin Newborn on guitar and vocals and Pat Cowan on keyboards. The newest musical family member is Ron Burk on bass.

Now, with a mix of classic music and newer songs, from rock to blues and other genres in between, we encourage you to come celebrate with us, the return of IDLEWILD SOUTH (REVISITED!).
