DJ's hire me to add some flair to their performance. As a hype drummer I'll jam to the songs of your choice, flash a smile, and throw my drumsticks around. If you're a DJ looking to add some performance to your show, hit me up. That's my specialty. Whether you need a drummer for a live performance, studio work, or film, I have over ten years of experience and can get the job done.
Price Range: $150 and up
Gig Length: 10 - 120 minutes
What to Expect
I am most well known for performing. The comments I get most are "wow you're really good," or "ya know, you smile a lot!" I often spice up my performance with spinning and flipping drum sticks, smiles, and head bangs. If I'm good at anything it is playing clean and genuinely having a good time.
However while I am most well known for my performing, I have had over ten years of experience in both live performance, and as a recording artist. In a live setting I can play to a click track or without, with a backtrack or without. I am also quite skilled at improvisation. So, whether you are looking for something lose or rigid, I can fulfill either. In the studio I can do most things with a little bit of practice. I've also had a lot of experience writing my own parts and have been hired several times for my skill in writing catchy drum beats.
If you'd like to hear some of my studio drumming look up the bands Shrink the Giant, 20storiesfalling, or Summer Lasts Forever. I play drums for all three. I've also recorded drums for various solo artists and other bands. Contact me if you would like more examples.
I started my career at age fifteen with a full length record by my high school band Almost Acoustik. I've come along way since then, and I've had the opportunity to play alongside many great musicians. I co-taught drums with Jay Osmond of The Osmonds, recorded a record with Dan Wayne Sermon of Imagine Dragons, and played a concert alongside Steve Smith of Journey. I've played in so many bands I may not be able to count them all. I've also opened for quite a few well known groups. Among them are Dance Gavin Dance, Aiden, We Came As Romans, Of Mice and Men, and I See Stars. I've toured with groups across the spectrum including soca, funk, rock, metal, pop, indie, country, techno, and post-hardcore. I've also played as a hype drummer for various DJ's.
Additional Booking Notes
I will need some equipment depending on what you are hiring me for. If I am being hired as a hype-drummer I will either need a headphone connection to the PA; that way I can use headphones as in-ear monitors. If that isn't available I will need a very, very loud monitor or two.
If you are hiring me to record, we can talk about microphones. I prefer certain kinds for certain drums, but usually the producer will know better since they know the sound you are going for.
If I am playing with a band I would prefer a rehearsal or two, however if that isn't an option just send me the music and we can talk specifics on the phone.
If I am being hired for film I will need to know what you are going for. There is a chance I will need to expand my wardrobe depending on the theme.

Influences & Inspiration
I have too many to list. Lately I have very influenced by Mike Byrne, Brandan Steineckert, Danny Carey, Josh Freese, Zac Farro, and Aaron Gillespie. However any drummer that can play clean and clever is another potential influence.
