Howdy Doodat

Jonathan (Howdy Doodat) will personally let you know what time he'll arrive to set up for Magic or Bubbles or BOTH! The setup time is different for each offering, but no setup takes more than 15 minutes. All details of how the presentation starts and concludes will be worked out by you and Jonathan via phone/text/e-mail before the event. You are the boss.

Howdy specializes in MAGIC/BUBBLE SHOWS which will feature 25-30 minutes of magic fun, followed by putting each child INSIDE A BUBBLE for grownups to video or photo with the BURST function on a cell phone. These shows end with Howdy unrolling out a 9 X 12 mat for the kids to stand/crouch/sit on while the bubble is created around them. All kids in attendance at the party get the choice to be put in a bubble, and Howdy will stay as long as it takes to get a nice shot (again, taken by the grownups present) of each child in a bubble.

MAGIC-ONLY shows are shorter, a bit cheaper, and require only enough space for the kids and grownups to sit or stand. Howdy is compact, self-contained, and good to go. But be forewarned, even though it's "just" a magic show, some LEARNING may accidentally happen!

BUBBLE-ONLY shows are outdoors only, and require open space for bubbles to waft and kids to run. Open yards and grassy parks are ideal, but blocked-off streets (as for Street Fairs) and playgrounds also work. These shows--as they are outside--also come with weather insurance--if you cancel for rain before Howdy gets on the road, you get every penny reimbursed!

Howdy Doodat will have your kids howling with laughter, helping out with magic, running after bubbles (if that's the show package you prefer) and/or being PUT INTO A BUBBLE! Depending on the age of the children, he's happy to teach some simple magic tricks to older kids, or lead them through activities to help them understand and enjoy the simple science of bubbles.

Jonathan Ellers (Howdy Doodat) has been a children's entertainer/educator for 30 years,. He has worked at museums and cultural sites all over the NYC and the Hudson Valley, and done "teaching artist" gigs in New Jersey and Connecticut. He lives at the tippy-tip of Manhattan (Inwood). He is a kid magnet and a "Fun-i-fyer" (his own term) of all things educational. Name a subject and he'll devise fun and memorable ways to teach and instill curiosity about it.

Howdy MAY need access to an electrical outlet if sound amplification is required, but otherwise his needs are few, and all depend on the show format you choose:

1) For Magic/Bubbles, sufficient space indoors to roll out a 9 X 12 mat to put kids in a bubble without getting bubble solution all over your house

2) For Bubbles-Only, sufficent space for the kids to run and chase bubbles (which waft whichever way the wind happens to be blowing). Parks and open yards are best.

3) For Magic -Only, sufficient space for kids and grownups to sit. Howdy only needs about 15 square feet for his personal setup.
