October 1, 2015Horacio Jones' talent was on full display at our 40th Anniversary celebration. Many, many comments were made about his accomplished guitar playing coupled with his singing prowess. He was a true joy to hear and watch as he played the many songs in his repertoire. A true professional who has talent to spare. I would highly recommend him and will be sure to keep him in mind for our next fiesta.

September 26, 2015I am very glad I hired Horacio to perform at our multicultural festival. He is professional, extremely skilled, polite, approachable, friendly, patient, and he plays classical guitar beautifully. Our master of ceremonies had to change up the format of our program in the middle of the event to make it flow better and it didn't bother Horacio at all. I had so many people at the event comment to me on how beautiful his music is and as an event coordinator, that made me feel great to hear. I strongly recommend you hire him for your event, you will not be sorry.

Clients can expect tasteful, live classical guitar music performed with care, precision, and attention to the flow of the event. My performances are instrumental and designed to enhance the atmosphere without overpowering conversation or key moments.

Horacio Jones is a classical guitarist based in San Diego with a background rooted in both classical training and live performance. Born in Acapulco, Mexico and raised in Texas, he developed an early passion for music before discovering classical guitar through his studies and mentorship with renowned guitarist Stanley Yates. His repertoire is influenced by composers such as Bach and Leo Brouwer, and he continues to expand his musical voice through ongoing flamenco studies with Diego Corriente.
Horacio specializes in instrumental classical guitar for weddings, ceremonies, and elegant events. When you book him, you can expect a professional, polished performance tailored to the setting and flow of your event. He arrives well dressed, brings his own amplification and sound equipment, and is happy to accommodate specific song requests when possible.
**Guitars**
I perform on a selection of professional classical and flamenco guitars, chosen to suit the style and setting of each event:
• 1985 José Ramírez 1A (cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides)
• 1999 John Peter Barthell (cedar top)
• 2016 Jesús de Jiménez flamenco guitar (spruce top)
• 1968 Conde Hermanos flamenco guitar (spruce top)
• 2015 Randy Reynolds double-top (spruce)
**Sound reinforcement**
I provide my own sound system using two JBL EON ONE Mk II battery-powered loudspeakers. This setup is clean, compact, and suitable for ceremonies and events with up to approximately 300 guests, depending on the space.

My playing is influenced by a blend of classical, flamenco, and modern acoustic traditions, including composers and artists such as Leo Brouwer, J.S. Bach, and Roland Dyens, as well as guitarists Jimi Hendrix and Michael Hedges. These influences shape an approach that is expressive, rhythmic, and well suited to both formal and contemporary event settings.
My setup is simple and self-contained. I require a small performance area (approximately 6 ft x 6 ft) and one chair without arms. I provide my own guitar, sound system, amplification, and microphones. Access to a standard power outlet is helpful but not
Masters in Classical Guitar - He played at my wedding! Horacio not only plays guitar, he writes music and sings. I had the honor of having him play at my wedding. His timeliness and music made the entire wedding much more memorable. I would recommend him to my closest family.
