Otahi Marama offers Hawaiian (hula) and Tahitian (ori) dance performances for a wide range of events (including private parties, weddings, fundraisers, for non-profits, schools, community events, religious celebrations). We design our show to fit your needs and budget. We also offer private or group hula/ori lessons, including hula appropriate for churches or Christian events.
Otahi Marama will travel easily around the Sacramento/Elk Grove/Galt/Natomas/Folsom/Roseville area, but can travel farther (distance will affect price).

June 5, 2018I hired this group to perform for about 30 minutes at my daughter's 13th birthday luau. We had approximately 70 people (20 of which were teenagers).
They arrived on time and we're very professional. The dancers were beautiful and switched into a few different costumes...which were also beautiful. The drummers were amazing and entertaining as well.
I appreciated that the MC introducing them personalized it by mentioning my daughter's name and bringing some of our attendees up for a demonstration.
Beautiful group. I would hire them again in the future.

Otahi Marama began as a small dance class for young children at Tribal Conneczion studio in 2013. Since then, Otahi Marama has added classes for teens and adults, formed a competition team and a music team, and has showcased at multicultural events, talent shows, and festivals all around the Central Valley.
Staging requirements: For the safety of our performers - we do dance barefoot! - Otahi Marama will need a designated "performance area/stage" at your event. Grass, pavement, carpet, wood stage is OK but needs to be clear of debris or any objects that might harm our performers/musicians.
Lighting: If it is an outdoor event in the evening, lighting will need to be provided by the client, but generally, regular daytime/outdoor or the event space's normal lighting is adequate.
Sound:
> For private parties, we can use a sound system that you have, if it is available for a hook up for ipod/phone (auxiliary audio cable) OR
> For large events (such as company parties, weddings, school events) where you already have a DJ for your event, we can work with your DJ OR
> For events where you have no sound system already in place or a DJ, we can provide one. Please note, a large event would require extra equipment to be brought and may affect final pricing.
