Hathra Mhari

My performances are mostly Egyptian style dance with some fusion elements. I often dance with props such as sword, veil or finger cymbals. I strive to be interactive and personable as well as professional. I am happy to dance with audience members! My sets can be customized to include music other than Arabic music. A set like this would be considered "fusion" and not Egyptian dance.
My sets are 10-15 minutes long. I will perform multiple sets with at least a 20 minute break in between.

I have been studying Egyptian and fusion style belly dance since 2016. My instructors have been local and from around the world including international stars. I continue to study and further my education in the dance and it's roots. I currently perform solo as well as with the Bright Eyes Belly Dance troupe. Our group is the premiere dance company for the Upstate Renaissance Faire, performing as the Valkyrie Dance Project as well as our traditional sets.

I became an AFAA certified belly dance fitness instructor in 2026 and teach classes at local studios.

I do not travel with a sound system or live musicians so you must provide the sound system. If performing with live musicians I must be given time to rehearse with the group at least twice before the event.
A clean, flat surface without obstructions is important for this type of dance as I typically perform bare foot. I enjoy dancing in different spaces (bar, restaurant, parties, etc) as long as the space if free of clutter and debris.
I require at least a 15 minute break in between multiple sets and would request a private space separate from the guest restroom to do costume changes, freshen up my makeup, etc.
