Cindy Qin is an active harpist currently living in Houston, TX. Cindy has performed in numerous events across the globe, and is available to provide beautiful music for events such as weddings, receptions, holiday events, funerals, etc. Her clients have always been extremely satisfied with the music she is capable of making.
Cindy is also accepting students of all ages and levels.

Cindy Qin is currently a student at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studies with Paula Page, former principal harpist of the Houston Symphony. Her previous private instructors include Trina Struble, principal harpist of the Cleveland Orchestra, Pingqiu Yue, her grandmother, and Ni Yan.
Ms. Qin is a substitute harpist with the Houston Symphony, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New World Symphony, and she has served as principal harpist in the Shepherd School Orchestras and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. In addition to school requirements, Ms. Qin was selected as an orchestral fellow for the 2017 and 2016 Texas Music Festival Orchestral Institute. She was also invited as one of two harpists to attend the Round Top Music Festival during the summer of 2015.
On top of orchestral festivals, Ms. Qin can be found performing around the world in the summers. Last year, she attended the World Harp Congress in Hong Kong, where she performed in a masterclass with Alice Giles and was a winner of the mock audition. She also performed chamber music, in Nantucket, MA, as a part of the Rossini Club. In 2014, Ms. Qin attended the World Harp Congress in Sydney, Australia and performed in a masterclass with Maria Luisa Rayan and in the Hong Kong Youth Harp Ensemble. Ms. Qin was a participant of the Saratoga Harp Colony and the Young Artists Harp Seminar in 2013, where she was a member of the harp ensembles and performed in masterclasses with Judy Loman, Elizabeth Hainen, Maria Luisa Rayan, and Susan Bennett Brady.
In 2014, Ms. Qin made her solo debut with the Suburban Symphony Orchestra as the winner of their Concerto Competition. She was also the first prize winner of the Houston Tuesday Musical Club’s Ruth Burr Competition for Instrumentalists in 2017, the San Antonio Tuesday Musical Club’s Young Artists Competition in Strings in 2016, the college division of the 2017 American Harp Society Greater Houston Chapter Mildred Milligan Scholarship Competition, and she was a finalist of the American Harp Society's Anne Adams Awards in 2018.
Ms. Qin was offered a full-tuition scholarship throughout her undergraduate studies at Rice University. This past May, she received her Bachelor of Music degree with "Distinction in Research and Creative Works". Ms. Qin is currently in her first year of graduate studies with a full-tuition scholarship and expects to graduate in 2020. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, sewing, and discovering good food with family and friends.
