November 22, 2025Emily is an incredible musician, and harpist. They played all of the prelude music for our ceremony, and in our wedding ensemble. Their rep list is extensive, but I’m fully convinced that they can play anything thrown their way. The prelude harp music really set the tone for the day, and our guests raved about the song selections and musicality. Could not recommend Emily enough!

August 23, 2025We hired Emily to play harp for our wedding ceremony March 2025. Let me start by saying that she has a diverse portfolio of music in different styles-it was easy to find pieces that fit our wishes. She also was willing to learn pieces that we specially requested. She showed up to the venue plenty early so that she could work with the coordinator and DJ on placement, timing, sound balance, and to warm up. The ceremony was beautiful-it was everything we wanted. She is an extraordinarily talented player. We were absolutely thrilled she did our wedding and would definitely hire her again for any special event.

Emily Reader is a freelance harpist in Chicago, Illinois. They have performed with a variety of orchestras and ensembles in and beyond the Chicagoland area, including; Lake County Symphony Orchestra, United States Air Force Band of Mid America, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Dubuque Symphony, Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra, World Ballet, Gateway Chamber Orchestra, and Allegrezza Choir. In addition to ensemble performance, Emily regularly performs at the Langham hotel, Drake hotel, and private events.
Emily has a Masters of Music in Harp from Northwestern University and a Bachelors of Music in Harp Performance from Vanderbilt University. They have performed in masterclasses for Noel Wan, Emily Levin, Brandee Younger, and Lynn Margueritte Williams. They have also previously attended Chautauqua Institution Instrumental Program, Interlochen Arts Academy, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and Birch Creek Summer Music Academy.
