About
Emily performs harp for weddings and events throughout North Carolina. A student at Western Carolina University, Emily majors in biology while performing harp actively. In 2023, she won the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra’s Richard R. Deas Young Artist Competition for which she was featured as a soloist performing Grandjany’s Aria in a Classic Style with the Wilmington Symphony in 2024. Also in 2023, Emily was awarded the Thursday Morning Music Club’s scholarship.
An avid musician, Emily began playing the violin at the young age of four, she has been surrounded by music her entire life. When she was a member of the Wilmington Girls Choir, Emily performed at Carnegie Hall in 2018 in a performance with John Rutter. As a harpist, she studied harp at the Brooklyn Arts Music Academy with Christina Brier. She has performed with the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra, Topsail High School Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. Emily is also a proficient flutist. She was accepted into the Eastern All-District Band and All-County Band for multiple years, and would occasionally play for the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra.
