About
Grace Bowles:
Grace Evelyn Bowles is a 22 year old violinist based in Kansas City, Missouri. She began playing the violin when she was 4 years old, and has been performing ever since. At age 13, she studied in Italy alongside an orchestra in Pordenone, and has since been a part of other orchestras such as the Missouri Philharmonic and the Springfield Youth Symphony. She has been at the UMKC Conservatory for the past four years, studying under Professor Joseph Genualdi and soon to graduate with a BA in Music.
Rowan Long:
Rowan Long is based in Kansas City and is pursuing a BA in Music Therapy and Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has been playing violin since 2014 and piano since 2015. She was a member of the Lincoln Youth Symphony, NEMA All-state, Wesleyan Honors Orchestra,UNL Spring Strings Honors Orchestra, Lincoln South-East High School Jazz Band, and the First Plymouth Church Youth Orchestra. During her summers she would intern at S.A.I.L (Strings Alliance in Lincoln) camp where she would teach children how to play violin. In 2022 she was the featured soloist at her final orchestra concert at Lincoln South East Highschool. She’s the winner of the Lincoln South-East Exemplary Musician Award and the Charles Hamann Music Scholarship. She also lettered in orchestra all four years of high school. Now she teaches private piano and violin lessons and does volunteer work for different music therapy sites.
LilyAnn Willis:
LilyAnn Willis is currently pursuing a BA in Music at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. LilyAnn has been playing the viola since 2016 and ever since then, she loves playing music with her friends. In 2023 she held her first masterclass at her old middle school and was a featured soloist at the concert. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has played with a few groups such as the Midwest Chamber Ensemble, Pittsburgh Symphony, and Kansas City Rock Orchestra. During her time away from school, she works at the Wyatt Violin Shop helping students and professionals get their dream instrument. Prior to this, she was a teaching artist aide at the non-profit music program, Harmony Project.
Laura Hoesly:
Laura Hoesly started playing cello in a 5th grade strings program and quickly fell in love with the instrument. Throughout high school, Laura achieved many principal positions in top youth orchestras in the Kansas City area, as well as gold ratings for solos at the state level all four years. In college, they have enjoyed playing with the UMKC Symphony Orchestra, St. Joseph Symphony, Kansas City Sinfonietta, and more! Laura also loves playing in pits for community theatres such as the White Theatre at the J and Theatre in the Park. Laura is currently pursuing a BA in Music at the UMKC Conservatory.
