Happy Music

R C (Initials only) "Happy" Hopper is a skilled guitarist having played stringed instruments since the age of 4 beginning with the mandolin and today also including 6, 8, and 12 string guitars. He has played professionally since 1985 as a solo musician travelling to 25 states doing concerts and various events in churches, schools, community events, television programs in Denver, Kansas City, and Oklahoma City. Happy was the host of his own cable television program, "The Happy Hopper Hour" in Liberal, KS from 1971 to mid-1974. Now at age 77, he books only in the Springfield, MO market area to do Happy Music bookings and officiating weddings (mostly informal private occasions) as a marriage equality officiate.

I was born in 1945 near Reeds Spring, MO, but was raised in the Texas panhandle and received my bachelor's degree from West Texas A & M. I married my high school sweetheart and we have 4 adult children ages 55, 50, 40, and 38. We lived in Liberal, KS (oxymoron) for 17 years as pastors of our church which became the 6th largest church among 37 at the time. We moved to Stone County MO in 1988 and were Special Ed instructors for 18 years until our retirement in 2010. My wife of almost 50 years passed away in 2012 of ALS. R C “Happy” Hopper has been writing songs (over 550) and performing professionally since 1985 (His first songs were written in the early 1960’s). Presently, I perform SINGING TELEGRAMS and sing and play in restaurants, Fridays @ Tequila’s in Branson West (Every Friday with few exceptions since January (phone number hidden)9) and monthly programs for five Senior Centers; as well as for private parties, civic clubs, school and church events, conventions, weddings and funerals, retreats, and special occasions.

I will arrive 45-60 minutes early for the event to set up my own sound system.
