About

Hancock & Shouse may be a new band but they have many years of experience by founding and singing in Kentucky based bands like “The Wooks” and “The 23 String Band” both of which won Rockygrass Band Competitions and other awards. In 2020 they joined forces to create Hancock & Shouse which grew into another award winning bluegrass band called Wolfpen Branch.

After the disbanding of Wolfpen Branch, Arthur Hancock and Chris Shouse resumed performing together and this is the first recorded music from the group

Hancock & Shouse is excited to release 6 singles this spring. Four songs were penned by Shouse: “Runs Wild,” “Take it on the Chin,” “Throwaways,” and “Lexington.” Hancock contributed the tune “Why Do You Lie.”  Arthur and Chris also recorded Arthur’s father’s song “Time Ole Faithful Friend of Mine.”

Self produced and recorded at Tower Station in Lexington, Kentucky, Jeff Myers and Dan Willecke engineered and mixed. The tracks features Kati Penn Jenkins on fiddle, Cody Dugger on banjo, Owen Reynolds on bass, with Hancock on guitar and Shouse on mandolin.
