Overview

I have been piping since 1964. Having played in seven pipe bands, I have also competed in solo and band competitions. I currently serve as pipe major of the Regimental Pipes & Drums, a living-history group. I can perform in Scottish and Irish attire, or simple Daywear in jacket, tie and kilt. My full repertoire contains many familiar tunes. I always send a client a copy of my Piping Repertoire, and I enjoy working with clients on the selection of music. I am very flexible and try to accommodate the desires of the client. For enclosed indoor events, I play the Smallpipes. I have played at the Pennsylvania State Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery, and the U.S. Army War College.

Professional Service, Extremely Satisfied

I had a wonderful experience with Gus! Communication with him went well. As co-host of a family event, I was having some difficulties planning everything, but Gus was very accommodating and flexible. Andrew engaged me to play at his mother's Celebration of Life at the Stehman UMC church pavilion in Lancaster County. She had died over a year ago and the Celebration also dedicated a new headstone at her grave. I played Sleep, Dearie, Sleep and Amazing Grace on the Great Highland Bagpipe, and also a number of tunes on the Smallpipes. Andrew was great to work with, and I enjoyed meeting his relatives and friends.

Five star and spot on. Gus covered all our needs for a fire fighters funeral. He had recommendations which was very nice and we couldn't be more happy with his services.

Cindy engaged me to play at the funeral of a Firefighter at the Wiconisco Fire Station following the service at a local church. I played extensively as the various Fire trucks arrived, and the remains were conveyed into the Fire Station. Following the Firefighter's Farewell Ceremony, I played as the family greeted their family and friends. This event was trying due to the excessive summer heat and the Canadian smoke which made breathing (and blowing the pipes) difficult.

My father's funeral

Gus was a joy to work with, and exactly what my father would have wanted. From the selection of songs, to his flexibility we were all so grateful. He was also early, which was fabulous. That was one less thing to worry about! He absolutely gets 5 stars!

Sue engaged me to play at the interment of her father's ashes at the Williston Friends Meeting House in Newton Square. This was the first time that I had performed at a Quaker Meeting House and Cemetery. I led the procession to the gravesite and played a lament after the reflections of the family and friends. I met a number of very nice people. It had rained earlier in the morning, and I donned a raincape for the event.

Absolutely amazing and so professional!

Gus was beyond professional and timely and took every moment as seriously as I did for my wedding. He wore full dress, and really brought my wedding to the next level. He was lovely to work with and would 100% recommend. Not even to mention he is a phenomenal bagpiper!!

Olivia engaged me to play at her wedding at the Railroad House Inn In Marietta, PA. This evocative Restaurant and Tavern were built in 1823 to serve the travelers on the railroad along the Susquehanna River. The ceremony was scheduled in a large tent in the backyard garden. I played for the Processional and then played in the garden as the Bridal Couple greeted all their guests. A most enjoyable event.

Great to work with!

Mr. Person played gathering and departure music at my daughter’s wedding. He was so easy to work with and knowledgeable of his craft. Our guests enjoyed entering and leaving the church with music. I enjoyed that I could listen while I was waiting to enter the church with my daughter. He was perfect for the Scots in attendance and exactly what my now son-in-law wanted st his wedding! Thank for memories of a lifetime!

Jack engaged me to play at his daughter's wedding to Hunter at the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring in Chambersburg, PA. This church was founded in 1734. The current church was dedicated in 1808. I played both before and after the wedding ceremony. Due to the recent heavy rains, the father of the bride erected a pop-up tent on the sidewalk outside the entrance. The rains stopped just before the ceremony, so it was not needed. A very enjoyable experience,
