Overview

Hello. My name is Greg and I'm from Lakewood, Ohio. I've been playing music around NEOhio since relocating from Chicago a number of years ago. I perform solo (The Greg Show) and with a few bands. In quarantine, I began releasing an album every other month and to date have released 10 since February 2021. I am happy to perform originals or cover songs. If you give me a bit of time, I can learn pretty much anything. Rock, Pop, Country, etc.

What to expect

I play guitar and sing. Give me an idea what kind of vibe you're going for and I'll craft a setlist that ought to meet the moment. I am happy to learn songs on demand and otherwise have a good number of tunes I can recall on the spot. I enjoy playing around with cover songs -- making them my own either in feel or approach. Original songs range from noisy rock to mellow tunes.

About

I've been playing music since I was a teenager as a way to make my oldest brother think I was cool. I've played in bands for years and have played solo around NEOhio for the last 10-ish years. I enjoy reading an audience and trying to figure out what they'd like to hear and then matching a song to the temperature in the room.

Other than playing in bars and such, I write and record original music. I've released 10 albums since February 2021 -- about an album every other month -- and have a few more planned before the end of 2022. While I'm happy to share my original music, I realize that for most events, familiar songs meet a warmer reception, so I've got a healthy catalog of familiar favorites upon which to draw.

Additional booking notes

Not picky here. You can stick me in a corner or on a stage. Up to you.

Influences and inspiration

I'm influenced by so many artists. I taught myself listening to Buddy Holly, Neil Diamond, and The Velvet Underground, but more than anything I'm a big Beatles guy. I love rock and roll from the 50s forward and try to pull songs from different eras into my sets. I could go on and on.
