Ruined my wedding.

She canceled the day before and sent a replacement. The replacement only new a few cords of the songs and played them on repeat. Then didnt play anything as we walked down the aisle after the ceremony because we were a few minutes over. Even though when we communited with Christine she agreed ceremonies were hard to predict and if we went over a little she wasn't tripping and if it was over 15 we would settle afterwards. For her replacement to aragantly sit there with her arms crossed because her time was up was absolutely embarassing and heart breaking. We walked back down the aisle to silence. Ruined my wedding. Will never use gigsalad again.

Tiffany, this is the first I'm hearing of this and I'm so, so horrified. As I think you may know, there was a death in my family and I did everything I could to find a replacement so your day wouldn't be affected. I am so sorry. This breaks my heart. I am following up with the musician directly.

I am shocked and this review is simply not accurate. I played a selection of music including many of the Celtic pieces that you sent my way. I repeated one selection because the wedding started quite late.
You sent me selections for the bridal party and processional which I played at a high level (I did not use backing tracks, but played solo violin). It's possible some of the Celtic tunes might have sounded similar and I did play a few times through on those tunes because they are short, but that is what you sent. I included a few additional selections You're Still the One, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Isn't She Lovely because the wedding started 15 minutes late (not out of the ordinary) and I was trying to avoid repeats.
I did not receive instructions for the recessional and thought the DJ would play after they were announced - he actually played a second of something and then cut the track for some reason. I did jump in as they were walking when I realized the DJ was not going to be playing and I played the refrain of Marry Me from Pirates. I did not sit with "my arms crossed", but was sitting during the ceremony holding my violin in my lap like I would at any wedding. Not playing immediately after they were announced had absolutely nothing to do with being over time and I did not communicate anything of that sort to anyone.
I received several compliments as I left including from the groom's father saying he enjoyed my selections and was glad the music was upbeat. Another attendee sought me out today she thought my playing was beautiful. There was a videographer present who recorded the ceremony and me, you can also check with Rachel the wedding coor

Great experience

Lucked into finding Christine as she was located pretty close to the kinda out of the way venue. I wanted to add some acoustic strings to my daughter’s wedding (she was going to use a DJ for the ceremony). This was the perfect upgrade. Christine worked with the bride beforehand to plan. She was on time and played really nicely. The event was pretty traditional and Christine played a mix of classical and folk. I don’t know music well but guest commented that they enjoyed it and recognized the music. Bride said, “it sounded great and she was great to talk to beforehand”. :)

Fabulous musician, Lovely person

Christine is highly skilled, has beautiful tonal quality, and is a lovely person! She arrived early, totally prepared with the music I sent her, and had invested extra time writing additional creative arrangements. We can't wait to work with her again!

What to expect

You can expect me to supply my own gear (stand, music, instrument, chair, amplifier, microphone, cables, electric cord). If you need amplification, I will require an outlet to plug in to... but that's all!

You can expect clear communication and reliable service. I will always do exactly what I say I will do, and I will ask you for clarification instead of assuming I know what you need.

You can expect me to show up early.

You can expect me to expertly arrange a particular song for your event if you request it, as long as I have at least a month to do so.

You can expect me to provide my own backtracks if you want to hear a multi-tracked performance.

You can expect me to deliver a professional, respectful classical performance, OR you can expect me to deliver a fun, frisky nontraditional performance if that's what you want!

About

I majored in music at Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, CUNY (Queens, NY). I studied privately for several years with renowned pedagogue Burton Kaplan, who himself was a student of the legendary Dorothy DeLay. I have performed professionally everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the local coffee shop. I’ve lived in Texas since 2007.

I have a passion for quirky, fun music but am also in love with the classics. If you're looking for someone who is versatile, affordable, friendly, and consistent - look no further.

I perform as a solo violinist, or with backing tracks as requested. I also have many musician friends and can often bring in another performer (for a fee) to add more depth to an event if needed.

Additional booking notes

I need to know in advance if I have to provide my own stand light.

If amplification is needed, all I need is an outlet. I will bring my own cables, amp, and electric cord.

If the event is outdoors and there is rain, I absolutely need cover.
