Granite Statesmen
Overview
The Granite Statesmen Barbershop Chorus, members of the Nashua, NH Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, was formed in 1955. Representing many towns and cities in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and New York these men assemble each Wednesday evening in Nashua to sing and perform in that unique American musical art form of four part a cappella singing known as ‘barbershop.’ The Chapter prides itself in being active members of the Arts community in the Greater Nashua area and are Charter Members of the Nashua Arts and Humanities Coalition, a group dedicated to the promotion of the performing and visual arts.

The quartet took the time to talk with me beforehand to find out life experiences of our family and the birthday man (my father). Not only was their singing and harmonizing beautiful but their clever repartee made the whole experience an “over the top” celebration. I know that the other residents (and staff) who happened to be around during the lunchtime event also had a fabulous time. While lots of videos and photos were taken during the event, I don’t have any to share through this platform.
Really, I can’t say enough positive things about the whole experience even though the original booking arrangements were a little confusing.

What to expect
You'll see a great four part performance by a chorus of about thirty men. Thrill to our ringing four part harmonies. We sing, we dance, we perform choreographed moves. We have a variety of outfits depending on whether it is holiday time or a more formal concert.
About
Throughout the years, the Granite Statesmen have performed at a variety of events, enthralling audiences in the Greater Nashua area and beyond. Featuring a repertoire of classic and contemporary Barbershop tunes, the chorus performs at several annual Christmas shows including a performance during the Nashua Holiday Stroll. They also sing at patriotic events in the summer, celebrations and gatherings, and Barbershop community conventions, celebrations and concerts. Their Singing Valentines fundraiser, featuring quartets comprised of chorus members, is another cherished tradition where the they deliver personalized serenades to loved ones, spreading joy and romance through their harmonious melodies.
Additional booking notes
We generally use risers for our more formal performances with the full chorus. If you have a sound system with several microphones that is great but if not we have a sound system, which we can quote if needed.
